Like the everyday pan, it never sees the inside of a cupboard. They live on the stove top ready for duty. And they're pretty.
So, obviously, the pots are beautiful. The design is called "Butterfly" and it was designed by Claudio Bellini. They feel good. They are a nice weight and the handles are soft and cool to-the-touch. The handles are on the slim side, but they still work fine for my long, thin fingers.
But do they perform? Yes, they do--perfectly. There are other pots out there that perform just as well, but these Barazzoni are much more elegant and beautiful. So, if you've got a nice high-paying, confortable job, indulge yourself. If you don't, ask the wage-earner in your family first...)
Other choices--and I can tell you this with authority because I own them too--equal in performance is the All Clad brand; equal in performance is the tri-ply Tramontina brand. Shape/contour of the pans is the main difference in all three brands. Tramontina makes Barazzoni and its own Tramontina label. Tramontina makes lesser-quality lines, too.)
I recently purchased some more pieces in this line, so I must clarify that I own this particular pot-size, plus the 9 quart covered stock pot, the 3.5 quart covered deep saute pan ( about 12" dia,) and the 2 quart covered deep sauce pan. I love them all, and the other sizes are on my wish list. With this Barazzoni Butterfly line, I do not believe that quality or performance could be affected by pot size--they will all work wonderfully well.
