Among other conflicts, he lives in New York and she lives, literally, an ocean away.
Sometimes funny, sometimes sad, always entertaining and an all around good read.
Lisa and Courtney live in England and have come to US for Courtney's 25th high school reunion and Lisa is dressed like Madonna! While at the reunion Lisa meets Aaron a former classmate of Courtney and current high school gym teacher. Of course Aaron is hot (all gym teachers should be hot, though mine was not) and interested in Lisa. Lisa is divorced with two teenaged daughters who are spending time with their dad and his new HOT and YOUNGER soon to be wife. Aaron likes Lisa from the start. Aaron spent five years in the UK and has left behind his young daughter with her mother. He knows one day is little girl will need him and he will go back to the UK to be closer to her, but until then, he is happy to treat his school kids like they're his own. Aaron would like to spend as much time as he can with Lisa while she is the US. Lisa is not so sure about that, but Courtney lets her see that she should give him a chance and move on from her ex. Both Lisa and Aaron have issues to over come and I really enjoyed the love between them. I really thought that is would be a story where you have a wonderfully written love story, but maybe a not so happy ending. It looked like things were stacked against Lisa and Aaron, but Rachel Brimble does a great job of making it work. I love all the characters in this story. The story is well written and Rachel makes you feel for Lisa and Aaron. This is great story about finding love when not looking for it and even if you live a world apart.
An easy going, likeable person, with a quick smile, Aaron is someone you would want next door. He's a man's man, comfortable in his own skin and not afraid of showing emotion...but is there more to Aaron than meets the eye? This story captures the young at heart, but there's an ever present cloud looming overhead of past heartache and regret.
The playful banter and off-handed remarks between Aaron and Lisa are quite amusing and helps with keeping the story on a light note. And then there's the enjoyable extras, Courtney and the school kids, that are present at every turn.
Author Rachel Brimble gives us the quaint town of Summerville, with its coffee shop Sips and Lakeshore Boulevard. Down home sites, sounds and old acquaintances makes for a mix of nostalgia and new beginnings that keeps you captivated to the end. A sweet take on a familiar subject that will keep you involved and routing for a happy ending. Pick this one up, you're in for some nice moments.

This is a sweet second-chance-at-love story with a wonderful hero and heroine worthy of him.
Lisa Cavendish is heartbroken and bitter after a marriage that ended with her questioning ever trusting another man with her heart. She needs to get away from the UK and her ex-husband and his much younger fiancée. She needs distance from her problems and attending a friend's reunion in the USA seems like a good plan. Until she meets...
Aaron Taylor is trying to rebuild a life after a divorce and return to the USA. He left behind in the UK a bad marriage and his daughter, which is breaking his heart. Just as his life is becoming a little easier, he meets a sexy, funny woman visiting from the UK. What he left behind comes back with hearing her accent, but this special heart-wounded woman helps heal him. And makes him want more.
A nice romance that has you pulling for the two wounded souls to find a second chance at happiness
