1. The speed is even more than rated.
2. It will be recognized even by 9 years old camera and 2008 Zoom 2H Recorder. Usually SD cards are not (UHS U1,U2,U3) SD's are not compatible with cameras that restrict speed and space to 4GB, Recorders more than 8GB and only you have to use = SDHC 4 or 6 speed.
Now the only question for how long it's gonna stay this way. I have only Transcend SDHC 4 and 6 speed cards for 8 years. And use them almost every day for Zoom 2h (2008) recorder.and still going strong.
____I will check some more about this card and write all specs and compatibility with Olympus Panasonic Sony cameras.
Wait a bit 4 a full review - it's worth it.
For linear reads, I saw over 75MB/s, for large random reads, over 55MB/s. For write performance, it cleared 13MB/s linear and 3MB/s large random (most cards I have tested can't hold 1MB/s for large random writes). The small random reads were over 6MB/s. The <1MB/s small random writes were a bit disappointing, though, and the just better than zero transfer rate with multiple outstanding writes says the card can't deal with multiple streams at once. Copying a set of files that ranged up to 100MB per file (with an average over 1MB per file) achieved around 4MB/s.
Overall, it could be tolerable as a file storage card, and it looks like it might make a useable camera card if your camera has a reasonable write buffer.
The 32GB version of this card has clearly better write performance and does not choke on multiple streams; I would recommend it instead, unless your device can not handle it.
I have had no issues with corruption or data loss so far, but I have not had this card a long time.

I've been using Transcend cards (I probably own three dozen) for several years and on a daily basis and I've never had any problems whatsoever. I would say I've shot in excess of 100,000 photos on these cards (most of them are just 8 gigs) and haven't lost a single frame--something I can't say of other brands.
For the price, these are a bargain and I prefer them over all other cards.
I also have one of these cards in my D3100 (purchased before the sale). That camera has a 13 shot buffer when shooting RAW. I've also noticed that the D3100 benefits from these cards to as the buffer does clear faster.

Thought I had taken some important images with the Transcend card.
However, when I checked, neither the camera nor the computer registers anything.
Camera says card cannot be accessed. Computer will not show the card.
Not so for the San disk cards which both work perfectly, so it is not the camera or the cards. It is the dud Transcend card. Very unfortunate. I have lost the images of a very special occasion. Avoid like the plague.
I use an SD card through choice, as by not using the Jukebox function, the Hard Drive doesn't have to do extra work storing and playing music, thus prolonging the operational life of the drive. These automotive quality HDDs are very expensive to replace, so I find this Transcend SD card perfect for copying all my MP3s from the PC and playing directly in the car. I have still only managed to fill half the card up with music, so far, but I have had absolutely no issues with it whatsoever and can highly recommend it for this purpose. If I ever do need to buy another one - I will go directly for this brand.
