The first is the best

The first Transformers remains the best in the entire series. It was fresh and original. As someone that watched the cartoons it had nostalgia thrown in as well.

The film had plenty of comedy especially with Sam Witwicky (Shia LeBeouf) being self-deprecating. Added to that were his crazy parents Ron (Kevin Dunn) and especially Judy (Julie White) who was always saying something inappropriate. Added bonus was Agent Seymour Simmons (John Turturro) who had his special Sector 7 underpaints on too tight because he was always high strung especially when it came to aliens. Plus Anthony Anderson as Glen Whitmann had his moments as well.

Michel Bey was the director and the Transformers had all his favorite bells and whistles. First, he’s enamored with the military. The opening scene was a Decepticon flying in the form of a helicopter and then attacking a U.S. army base. Second, he loves guns and explosions. Hence the army base gets leveled. Third, he likes to show off pretty women. The co-star was Megan Fox as Mikaela Banes who becomes Sam’s girlfriend and gets to run around with Bumblebee and the Autobots. Sometimes that can really go wrong, but this time it worked out.

Amazon selling Used Returned movies as New
Verified purchase
I have had Several movies that i received from Amazon that were purchased as new but received an obvious used 4k Blu ray. They have had smudges and fingerprints all over them and have had to be cleaned to play properly. I kept the others because didnt want to fool with returns and after cleaning movie played fine. I am returning this one for exchange because i paid for NEW not a used return and repackaged item. I will no longer purchase DVDs through Amazon.

I love this movie!

My movie got her earlier than the expected due date, so I have been thrilled with that kind of service. I tried using the 4k Ultra HD DVD, but my player would not operate it even though it is multi region and I have a 4k TV. I am still trying to figure that out. Other than that the blue-ray DVD worked beautifully, but I would love to see the difference if I can get the 4k UD to work. Thank you for making my day with this movie!! And a huge thank you to the Amazon workers! Keep up the great service! You guys rock!

Long, but enjoyable.

Hanging out with out 14 year old grandson on a Sat night, and let him pick the movie. Surprisingly, we all liked it. The special effects were really good, it was fun watching the machines transform, the story line was funny. It did seem very long, and there were occasional references and innuendos that were a little embarrassing and frequent mild swear words (that my sweet boy felt like he had to apologize for each time). But it was fun and enjoyable.

A painfully boring 2 1/2 hours
Verified purchase
Really wanted to like this, but it was so boring. The graphics are amazing, but they simply cannot carry a movie. And, as the fighting starts you can't even tell what is happening anyway. Not sure what the director was thinking because this isn't a generational thing...even my boys were getting bored and complained about the action scenes. I think the worst part of this is the dialogue, because you really want to see Shia and his new girlfriend to get carried off by the Decepticons. If you need to have your childhood come to life, maybe this will appeal to you. But, if you are not a superfan, just pass this one by.

The Definitive HD DVD title!
Verified purchase
Well as with all movies I had to watch Transformers twice to really appreciate it. I must say thats this HD DVD is worth every penny. #1 The Picture is beautiful! There are no complaints here. Just seeing the Transformers close up in HD blew away my theatrical experience. Just looking at the Bumble-bee 2009 Camaro in all its HD glory is worth the price of admission, The picture is a 9.5. #2 The sound is amazing, I'll give it a 9.5. The amount of bass that comes thru as Megatron speaks is just spectacular! Hearing Starscream and Megatron Transform and turn on their afterburners is something your Surround Sound system will love to kick out! Its a house-shaking heck of a good time!

The movie as a whole is something adults and kids can love as a whole...

But wait there's more...this HD DVD includes a Transformers HUD that gives you all the facts and explainations why certain changes were made and provides some insight to the origins of Transformers such as Blackout. Also included is Michael Bay's commentary where he compleely disses the realism of Transformers F-22s versus Live Free & Die Hard's F-22. Its hilarious! Theres so much on disc one alone that it'll take you forever to make it to disc two! There is also a hidden live action Iron Man theatrical trailer if you watch Tranformers thru the end credits, what a treat! Thank You Paramount and thanks to HD DVD the Tranformers have made it to the next level!

Confession!!
Verified purchase
I have to confess, I didn't expect much from this movie. I didn't see it on the big screen, and my first exposure to it was thorugh my Blu-Ray home theater. But I was astounded!! This film is another reference film that shows off your home theater to your friends and visitors. The story is pretty good and flows well. The cast is flawless. Shia LaBoef takes the scared and hesitant hero to cynical heights. Good support is displayed by all the cast. The filming and direction are spot on. What truly made it for me was that the computer generated pieces were perfectly blended into the natural film surrounding and made the best blend of computer-realism I've seen yet. The climactic battle scene was too much, and very confusing as to who was engaging who. And through it all LaBoef was frantically running around with a starnge little cube tucked under his arm. But I went along for the whole ride totally. The ladies seemed to enjoy this one as much as the guys, and the HD-DVD transfer is excellent. This one is a must keeper!!!
