This is an amazing book, it is going to be a shocking eye opener for many readers. While we are constantly told by “experts” and the media that the world of finance and economy is very complex and difficult to grasp for the average person, Dr. Zeus successfully argues that the complexity of the system is only a disguise to hide the relentless and ever present fraud. Governments can print money out of nothing and bail out huge corporations and banks instead of letting them shut down, banks can loan out 10 times (and more) the amount of money they actually owe, and corporations take advantage of relaxed or not present laws to unethically acquire smaller companies and squeeze them out while making huge profits. Despite being published in 2013, this book is still amazingly relevant today as the last financial crisis of 2008-2012 did not change anything and the same non democratic actions to benefit the rich are being deployed right now. This is the world we live in and it is important to be aware of this corrupted capitalism - as the author calls it, so that we can come together and transform it into a truly egalitarian system. In the third section of the book, Dr. Zeus provides several ideas and models on how to achieve this transformation: debt forgiveness, strong local communities, local currencies, fair taxation of the rich…
The author does a great job at breaking down difficult and controversial concepts making it as easy and clear as possible to understand. Highly recommended.
