Ally finds love only to have her world destroyed!

Ally had only been a child when her father took the teenage Enzo Matroni under his wing and taught him all he needed to know to become the powerful underworld figure he became. It was not surprising that the young Ally would hero-worship Enzo. After her father's death Ally became head of his organization and Enzo left to start his own organization. Enzo took the time to help and guide her in the beginning, but when she crossed the line and encroached into his territory, it was time to understand that no encroachment is acceptable. Enzo had become a rich and powerful man and had been surprised at how well she had taken control of her organization, but cracks were beginning to appear. There was a traitor in her organization and his plans for Ally did not include allowing her safety to be compromised. Her punishment for encroaching on his turf must be delivered and then her protection taken care of. Ally fought his spanking with everything she had, but his lovemaking afterwards she totally agreed with. However, the next morning she was gone been he woke and he needed to clarify where they stood with each other. I really enjoyed this book, the storyline moved very quickly and it was not long after their night together that Ally finally submitted to Enzo, her youthful infatuation paled into significance when contrasted with the chemistry between them. It was the mutiny within her organisation that caused a shift in their relationship. Alley was devastated, she had lost the legacy her father had left her and the one man she had trusted as her second had betrayed her and her life was in danger from the very people she had trusted. This story ended happily for Enzo and Ally but they both needed time apart before they could be free to love forever. You have to read this book to discover what happened next!

Hot Scenes

There were a lot of steamy scenes in this book. Our characters, Ally and Enzo definitely had chemistry. But I don’t think I will ever be into the controlling, possessive alpha type or the 24/7 power exchange. It sets women back about 100 years and just makes me angry. Allegra is clearly strong and fierce, yet around Enzo she becomes useless and annoying. Seeing such a strong woman broken down, with her fiery spirit tamped down and snuffed out, makes me sad enough to cry. For those who are not bothered by this, you will enjoy this book. I myself will be going back to books that empower women instead.

Allegra and Enzo's story

Allegra grew up in a Mafia family, where Enzo was second in command to her father when she was growing up. Her was her first crush...but he went out on his own and after her father's death, let her know even with a family connection Enzo would not tolerate Ally trying to creep into his territory...and she learned that lesson well until a little way down the road her second in command Frankie said she should encroach by two streets into Enzo's territory...but she got caught and this time spanked for her efforts...and now Enzo has become obsessed with Ally and determined to make her his...but will she submit to his authority??? A very enjoyable way to get your read on

I liked Enzo and Ally's story. It was a quick read that hits the ground running and keeps up the pace. The story held my interest and I enjoyed the characters. I thought the shared history added some a bit of extra depth to the storyline and I thought this duo's chemistry was easy to feel. A mix of tension, emotion, drama, steam and some kinkiness make for a very enjoyable way to get your read on. This is my objective, forthright review.

Are they meant for one another?

Enzo and Allegra have known each other for a long time. Enzo was Allegra's father's second and then left to go out on his own. When Ally makes a mistake and encroaches on his territory, she learns the hard way that wasn't a smart idea. I enjoyed this story of Enzo and Ally. They both have a strong personality and neither wants to back down. Of course, in a Carolyn Faulkner story, the girl is made to back down and this book is no different. The attraction between the two practically leaps off the page.

I enjoyed reading this quick-read mafia romance & it has a well-paced plot that is quite intriguing with some unexpected situations. The main characters (Enzo) & (Allegra) are inclined to be quite strong-willed individuals with good chemistry between them but at times they are inclined to be a bit confrontational.
There is: mafia, rivalry, drama, some twists, action, deceit, betrayal, abduction, apologies, regrets, opinionated attitudes, manipulations, discipline, spankings, vulnerability, an unusual courtship, some kink, disagreements, compromises, contentment, steamy scenes & a satisfying conclusion.

Love story

A love story between two bosses but the females becomes submissive to the male. That felt unrealistic since she’d have to be hardcore to be a boss. Also, she seemed too soft to be a family boss. It was confusing at times.
