Editorial Reviews

"Gritty and raw... there have been few authors that will write as boldly as a Erin Noelle did. As difficult as some of the scenes were to read, it was absolutely awesome to finally hit as hard as this one did. Translucent is without a doubt Noelle's best story yet." ~D, Flirty and Dirty Book Blog
"Dark and disturbing yet passionate and sexy-Erin Noelle delivers a hot romance with incredible depth." ~Melissa Brown, Bestselling Author

Translucent ~ permitting light to pass through but diffusing it so that persons, objects, etc., on the opposite side are not clearly visible
This definition describes Bryleigh/Blake, the heroine in Erin Noelle’s latest story, perfectly. At twenty two years old, she has witnessed and suffered from more death and devastation than anyone should. Her desire to please and feel loved has left her broken and battered. She’s had to pay the ultimate price for her choices, and now, as she starts over, she doesn’t allow anyone to fully see who she is. She only allows them in so far and then she closes herself off, fearful for what could happen to not only herself but to anyone she becomes attached to in any significant way. Blake may have a new life, but her past always follows her, reminding her of all that she has lost and endured. She’s a prisoner to her memories; her demons hold her hostage and force her to live a life devoid of pleasure.

But then Madden Decker enters Blake’s life and offers to set her free.

Madden has his own past that haunts him, but he sees something in Blake that captivates him. After being betrayed by a woman who was supposed to love him, he closed himself off to all emotions and lived a life filled with work and release only, but that all changes when he meets Blake. He knows she has secrets and nightmares that rule her life, but he offers her a way to break free from her pain; a way to experience absolute pleasure as long as she willingly submits herself to him. Madden understands the fragile woman that Blake is, and it doesn’t scare him away; it actually solidifies their need for one another.

I have just gotten to know Erin’ books, through her Book Boyfriend Series and I have got to say I fell in love with her writing. This new book made my jaw drop, her writing captivates you from the prologue and I just found myself reading until I could no longer keep my eyes open.

From the very first chapter I could tell this book was going to be intense but sensational as well. The ability to keep me riveted to my seat is remarkable by Erin and I felt myself turning the pages just because I wanted to see what happened next, I could not get enough.

The story starts with Bryleigh as seventeen being hypnotised by Ishmael, young love you could say, and I am sure we have all been there; we will do anything for this our first true love. Ishmael is slightly older but exudes importance, charisma and power and Bryleigh is caught up in it all.

We see at the start of this book what life is like for Bryleigh and how things are not what they appear with Ishmael, we see a darker side of Ishmael and a fear becomes part of Bryleigh’s life not just for her own safety but that of everyone she comes in contact with and her family if she should make a mistake. It all comes to a head one fateful night and I must admit I clapped and applauded Bryeligh for the actions she took.

As Bryleigh goes on with her new life, she is constantly plagued with nightmares which are so bad she inflicts harm on herself and my heart just went out for her at that point, she is only 22. Although we see at the beginning of the book parts of the old life, we read later on the steps Bryleigh has had to take to get away from that life and start to live a new one.

One thing I look for when choosing my next book is authors that are willing to take risks. Authors aren't afraid to look conformity in the face and laugh. Authors who grip me from page one and hold me by the proverbial balls until the last word is read. Erin continues to do this, and each book she releases only raises that bar. One thing she never does is disappoint, and I was left salivating at the thought of her next installment. There was a level of mystery and suspense that hasn't been seen in her books that kept me riveted to turn the pages as quickly as possible. She draws you in and keeps you invested in the characters. And she gives us sweet, delicious, alpha Madden. Make this your next purchase! You won't be sorry :-)

Ok so when Erin came to me and said I'm thinking of writing this book... I was instantly encouraging her to go for it! I've been a huge fan since she introduced me to Ash and then made me fall in love with Mason... But this book is LIGHTYEARS different then her previous books. I often said ummm... What's wrong with your brain? That being said this book isn't an easy, light fluffy read. It's gritty and dirty and a whole lot of MESSED UP! You probably will do a few double takes while reading. I did for sure...

As Bryleigh Carter Oliveira life is snuffed out, Blake grows from the ashes. From beginning to end you will be on the edge of your seat. You will hate, you will love and you will cringe! That is a guarantee... It might even turn your stomach at times. I think a few of the chapters I literally held my breath waiting for the uneasiness to pass...

But with all that came the bright light of Madden... He will charm the pants off of you, he's quick witted and down right sexy. But even he can't completely snuff out the darkness in Blake's life... But Madden will give everything he has to make her feel safe again, even if he doesn't know the daemons that he's up against. He just needs Blake to hold on and believe that she is worth loving and that giving herself to someone again is worth feeling that all consuming love... Even if Madden is jaded and doesn't believe in marriage he believes that Blake is in his life for a reason... His fierceness to protect and console her is admirable. Most men run from crazy the moment they see it, but not Madden...

But it's not just Blake's past that is working against her, there are many forces at work trying to keep these two apart...
