From the Back Cover

What if we all just told the truth about how we are feeling? Struggling with insecurity, jealousy, loneliness, preoccupation with your appearance, or fear of letting others know the real you? In Transparent, you'll discover the stories of fifteen women just like you. Ranging in age from twenty-six to sixty-one, these women take the risk to bare all about their struggles. As they remove their masks, some reveal that they measure their appearance by every other woman they meet. Others are desperate to break the constraints of their caretaker roles. Some fear they will never measure up to the standard of the ideal Christian woman and will not be accepted by God. Still others are lonely and just trying to cope. Sound familiar? Reading this book may be like looking in a mirror. Yet these stories provide glimpses of triumph and recognition that God is with you and working in you as you grow more comfortable with yourself. Transparent is not a book of packaged solutions but of dynamic possibilities. So no matter who you are or where you are in life, this book will provide hope and encouragement for the journey. I just finished this book and it was great. If you've read her first book, then you simply must read her second. I highly recommend this book to every christian woman, no matter where you are in your walk with God. It's amazing how much we all have in common, when we simply just tell the truth. This book challenges you to bring that mirror up close and asks you to go deep. I'm going deep! I recommend that you do as well! Cheers and congrats to Sarah on a phenomenal second book! I would love the opportunity to simply chat with her one day!

This is an easy read and impossible to put down. I saw bits and pieces of myself in all of the women's honest stories about their fears, shortcomings, and longings as women. It encourages women to stop "acting" like everything is ok, and to become real with ourselves and others about our experiences and deepest hurts. Few books are this honest and readable. I loved every word!!

I would recommend this book if you're interested in how other Christian women may feel...but as far as getting closer to God and getting hope...it won't happen.

To me...this book was depressing. A woman would describe whats going on her life, but at the end there has been no changes. I think thats what our walk with God should be. We should be changing from glory to glory. Not stuck in some rut where we hate our lives, jealous of someone else, etc.

I don't understand the authors reason for wanting to do a book like this. It's not hard to see that a lot of women think and want the same things. I believe women want to know how to get there. How to get the peace, hope, love, joy, security and closer relationship with Jesus. Thats what it should be about.
