I got part way through another book by this author and just couldn't finish because of how obtuse and odd their writing style is. Almost as if English isn't their first language.
I hoped it maybe was just a choice for that particular novel. Unfortunately, I was wrong. The same incongruous wording that plagued that book is in this one as well. Atrocious grammatical errors abound, and the author has their characters speak in the most stilted and inauthentic fashion I've ever read.
I liked the concept, but just can't get past how bad the writing is.
