If you're a traveling watercolorist looking for a flat wash brush then look elsewhere.
When I opened up the package and took the pens out, the pen cap hook on the largest brush broke off. Since they're round and are prone to rolling around your work surface I usually snap on the cap onto the back. However, the pen caps don't even snap onto the back of the brush - they fit but they're too loose and slide off the end, so the pens just keep rolling away while I'm working on my painting and that's not good at all.
Also, compared to my other Pentel and Derwent waterbrush, these seem extremely hard to squeeze refill. The first time when I unscrewed two of the brushes, only one of them had the black plug on it and the other two didn't. Not having that black plug squeeze thing actually made it extremely easy to refill like the Pentel and took me less than 5 seconds, while squeeze-refilling took me around 1 1/2 minutes which irritated me a lot. Plus the pens are long, and I usually don't have any jars that damn tall at my house, and I highly doubt I'll have one when I'm traveling too.
One thing I really like is how the brush mimics the spring of a real brush by having the end of the brush glued to this sponge. One thing I don't like the largest brush's "spring" mechanism is broken because the synthetic brush ends aren't attached to the sponge, thus not having the effect. I can work around it, but it'd just be better with the spring.
It's handy for sure, but a LOT can be improved.
I like the barrel and how it can fit quite a good amount of water inside. I simply fill it in the sink and sometimes I squeeze the tune to suck the water up from a glass. So far none of the brushes have been stained with the water colors(I use Aquafine). They're all very soft to the touch and you can come up with a lot of designs and techniques with these brushes.
