The hand truck/ladder is versatile but can be dangerous as there is no way to lock the hand truck in the down position so that when you remove a load it can fall over easily and hurt someone or break something. There is also no way to lock it in place to be able to place your load on it. Once you get the load on it works fine, but removing the load is difficult. The ladder is awesome as well, but a little difficult to store because of the size of the wheels. I will keep it and try to find a way to lock the hand truck open with bungee chords.

I'm not the only photographer on here it seems, and I bought this item for the obvious practicality. Ladder + Cart = YES. I'm not going to get into the feature flaws because it seems to be well trodden.
Assembly is easy, just a few bolts, nuts, etc. The problem is keeping it assembled. The hard rubber wheels are affixed by a bolt and locking nut - here are my two main issues.
1. The wheels untighten themselves, and consequently fall off (both sides of assembly).
2. The wheels are super noisy on hard floors. Carpet dampens the noise, but get this thing on tile, concrete, etc. and everyone is looking at you, it makes you look less than professional. There should be another wheel option, a softer rubber with filled with rubber a la a magliner or even the rocknrolla cart.
3. Since you're most likely on the move when using this, things may fall off at separate times. I wouldn't mind fixing up loose hardware, but when it's 3 hours away lying on the floor of someone else's office, it's kind of a moot point.

Not only do the wheels fall off, but the long bolts in the steps come loose. That's when I decided to write this review. It could've collapsed with me, an assistant, or anyone on it.

Bottom line, be careful or have a careful assistant.

If there were a Rolls Royce version of this, I would spring for it - maybe there is, but I don't see it on Amazon.

As a photographer, I love this for hauling my equipment. The padded handle is very comfortable even for the biggest hands. Then, I have the bonus of having a step ladder to get a better angle when I need it. The wheels are strong and don't wobble at all. I wish they were bigger though. All said, I'd give it 4 and a half stars.

This hand cart/step ladder does everything it says it will do with only one drawback...the wheels are little to small for doorjams and uneven surfaces.

Its something all photographers should have, but I think if it had softer wheels like those on a roller blade, it would be nicer. Makes too much noise from the hard wheels

I've had this item for about two years now. It comes in very handy for larger loads and serves as a great step ladder.

One of the problems, though, is when I have to lug an item onto a train or bus. This is just too big of a handcart for such a purpose. I purchased a smaller hand cart to do the job.

The second problem is that the wheels do not fold. They are small, though, so this not too much of an inconvenience.

Third, niether the wheels or the bottom of the handcart lock. When you put items or take them off it might slide, or once in the blue moon the top half of the cart might bend over and you will need to straighten it out so it can be 90 degrees with the bottom of the cart where you place your items on.

Fourth, the rubber on the handle is easily torn. It is a soft material and you can use your fingernails to make marks and rip it. I use duct tape in areas where the rubber has been torn.

Overall, though, I am satisfied with this stepladder. It's twofold function (ladder and handcart), and lightness of weight, makes it worth the money.

I use this as a professional photographer all the time. Easy to use - wheels make it easy to travel with. It does take up some considerable trunk space though. this item is sturdy but I can use it to wheel my gear bags in and out of events without a problem.

Quality wheeled ladder with high end plastics and trim. The strength is adequate for the size but dont expect it to hold heavyweight people on the close to 300lbs range. It could do it but wouldn't recommend it.
