    (front flap)
This inspirational guide to America's most outstanding sites gives you a fresh look at top travel destinations, and helps you decide where to go next.

The vast continent of North America boasts some of the world's most spectacular natural wonders, including the wilderness of the Adirondacks, the idyllic lakes and mountains of Banff and Jasper National Parks, and the deep ravines of the Grand Canyon. But North America's man-made wonders--among them, Manhattan's magnificent skyline, Miami's Art Deco hotels, and Savannah's historic squares--are no less spectacular.

This book guides you to North America's very best places: its best cities, parks, and the many other sites that every dedicated traveler should visit. Each chapter presents a destination, describing the special qualities that make it a must-see attraction. Maps set the places in context, and stunning photos set them apart from the ordinary.

If you've already visited some of these places, you'll surely want to return to them. And if you're currently making travel plans you'll find plenty of practical tips as well as insightful descriptions to help prepare you for your trip. But even if you never manage to visit every one of the sites described in this book, the pleasant hours you spend with The Traveler's Atlas will make you feel like you have.
