While this book is not bad, it is not particularly great either. There is a wealth of information out there about the Tokyo Disney Resort, it's just in Japanese. What this book attempts to do is fill in the gap for Americans who (of course) don't read Japanese. What this book does is give detailed information on the attractions (and restaurants, etc.), and then follows with an objective comparison of the Japanese attraction and the American version (if one exists). This can be helpful in some cases, and it is interesting to be prepped ahead of time to notice and appreciate the differences when you are at the park riding the attraction. But, that's about all this book does. While it does have some touring recommendations for some attractions (do this one first, save that one for late in the day), it's not very detailed and certainly not up to par with what's available in Japanese, or even what's available domestically for the American parks. For example, some Japanese books (and websites) list detailed information about peak wait times for attractions, as well as charting wait times throughout the day for the most popular attractions. It's this level of research that this book simply doesn't have.
There are other areas where this book is somewhat lacking, such as how to get from the train station to your hotel, how and where to buy monorail tickets, etc. This book simply tells you to go to the Resort Welcome Center to get all the information you need.Read more ›
