This bag...this bag is fantastic. I am generally not one who is terribly happy to receive targeted advertising but in this case it was greatly appreciated. I am a bit of a bag snob and have countless backpacks, messenger bags and specialty bags. This however has replaced them all. I use this as a work bag and it fits all my essential gear and looks great doing it. There is so much to like I am not sure where to begin. The fabric it is made from is rugged and water resistant, and easy to clean. Anything that has gotten on it came right off with a wet towel and and a gentle wipe. I am six foot seven inches tall and the strap at its longest fits me perfectly. There is a mobile phone compartment on the strap which houses my Samsung Galaxy like it was made for it. The easy access front sipper pocket is perfect for low value items that one may need frequently. I keep a small notebook, hand lotion and chap stick there. The main zipper is big and sturdy and has a fantastic feature, an attached carabiner to secure the zipper tabs while closed. As I wear this slung to my back it adds a layer of security for the pricey contents within. Speaking of the inner compartments there is a tablet sleeve in the very back that fits my iPad perfectly and is lined with a soft yet sturdy material which has kept it in pristine condition. The main compartment is roomy and fits my Kindle Voyage in a hard case, and Nintendo 3ds, also in a hard case. The keychain is also a nice feature and I keep emergency keys for my home and work on it, just in case. Also included is a fantastic squeeze style flashlight which is incredibly bright and has come in handy several times despite the two AA flashlight I keep clipped the the divider between the tablet sleeve and main compartment. There is a slim pouch between the main compartment and accessory section on the front of the inside panel in which I keep a A5 Rhodia dotpad, again sized as if made for it. There are card holders which I keep some fountain pens as well as a dedicated pen holder attached to the inside of the fold of the top and body of the bag. The pen I have there fits perfectly and stays in like new condition and is perfect for easy access. Also on the divider in front of the notepad slot is a small zippered area in which I keep a USB battery backup and another small notebook with perforated pages used to write things I intend to give to others. Lastly is the water bottle pouch on the outside side of the bag. A unique feature as it collapses and zips up to remain unobtrusive when not in use, but opens to fit a standard twenty ounce size soda bottle. The security features, the steel cable and wire mesh under the outer fabric, I thankfully have yet to require but based on the overall quality of this bag I am confident they would perform as intended. Overall I am thrilled this bag was suggested to me as it has replaced other much more expensive bags that I have and used daily. This is more convenient, stylish, and functional than my other options and I expect years of service from it. If you are looking for a bag of this specification look no further.

Per Travelon's website description this will hold a 13" MacBook Air; it will but it is not padded or secured. It's a good bag, yet useless if you're getting it to carry your laptop and tablet. The padded pocket won't hold a 10.5" iPad Pro; there is no rear padding on the pocket either. If you need more pockets look for a ThinkGeek Bag of Holding Con Edition; that at least has two pockets designed to carry a laptop and tablet. Also you can take the shoulder strap off that; this bag only one side has a hook making the carry handle useless. And a ThinkGeek bag will run about the same amount, or slightly less. As for the RFID blocking; Travelon does make card sleeves that retail for $3 for 3. Get those, or a RFID blocking card like Govo Products sells. I hope this is useful for people looking for a vertical messenger bag.

I have been searching for a tall vertical messenger back for a very long time as my old one was wearing out. Most messenger bags I found were either made to be carried horizontally (more like a brief case) or were too small to fit legal sized papers. This bag can handle legal size and A4 documents and even has a small padded slot for a 10" tablet.

The bag is well made of heavy rip-resistant nylon and the anti-theft features have been well thought out. Even the outer bottle holder can be zipped up when not in use. The front flap has heavy Velcro closures and can also be zipped closed for extra security. Zippers can even be clasped to the bag for additional peace-of-mind.

There are two small zip-able pockets inside the bag for small items and a few RFID-shielded slots for credit cards. The only drawback for me is that there is only one pen holder and nowhere to store my business cards other than in the main pouch or zipped pockets.

Some users have complained that the bag is only functional when carried on the right side. While this is technically true, I did not find this to be a drawback and I switched from right to left throughout the day. The padded strap makes the bag comfortable, too!

Overall, I am very satisfied with the bag, though the price can vary by as much as $25 from one supplier to the next so shop around! The best price I found was through eBags ($31.99), but they do not offer 2-day Prime shipping through Amazon and ShopRunner was not available for this bag on their site while it was on sale.

Let me start by saying that I really do like this bag for travel. It's secure, roomy, and does everything I need it to do. That said, I find the strap a bit wide and clunky, and the placement of the pockets make them easily accessible only if you wear it over the left shoulder. The design of the bag also forces you to open up the flap from the bottom, so you have to expose everything in the bag to the world in order to get anything out.

I wanted a bag which I could have my tablet and a few lenses, my wallet, phone, batteries for my camera and battery pack for my phone along with the cables. This bag was able to accommodate my Sony 6000 along with the above goodies. I would not recommend a camera any larger camera and having things in the same spot is a bonus. It is now my regular take with me bag when I go travelling on planes as it can fit under the seat with no issue. The front zipper is a bonus as you can slide the tablet in that area and having easy access.

The bag has one large compartment for storage. The biggest complaint is that you have to open the entire flag of the main bag to access the storage. Not much external storage. This bag just arrived and I like it a lot. Like the multiple pockets, single strap, zip up bottle/umbrella holder on side. Security features are welcome but not the reason I bought it. Got rid of my old backpack which was too bulky day to day walking to work and bringing to clients. Needed something for my newer 14" Lenovo laptop (T460s). My laptop dimensions are 13"x9". Travelon and Amazon say it holds 15" and 14" laptops with a tablet. Key words are "with a tablet". Usually the pocket at the back of any bag is reserved to keep laptop snug but on this one it is for a tablet. Size of pocket is 8" wide by 9" tall (a longer tablet is possible up to around 12 inches - it would stick out of the pocket but the bag would still close easily). The main largest pocket is where I put my laptop. Laptop does not stay snug but that is okay. Wish they had a bigger piece of foam on the bottom because the laptop can easily slide to the edge and have no foam protection between it, the bag, and the ground. Considering purchasing a laptop sleeve as added protection. I am most happy because the overall bag is smaller than my backpack especially in height. Hard to find a good over the shoulder bag that isn't too large. Heard some discussion about the straps. This model strap is permanently fixed on one side but can be detached from the other side. So designed for left shoulder only.
