Great bag. Uncomfortable strap.

I really want to love this bag. I used this on an overseas vacation, and I have to admit it is a perfect size, is made well and looks nice enough. (Being nylon, it will never look super dressy, but the clean lines and gold hardware keep it from looking too sporty.) I found the little LED flashlight very handy when dealing with unfamiliar locks, keys, keypads, etc. at our AirBnBs. So for size, function, and quality I give it an A+. But... the strap is AWFUL! Because of the cables that run through it as a security feature, it is quite stiff and uncomfortable. Worse, the metal slide that adjusts the length of the strap seems to always be digging into my collar bone no matter what length I try. And perhaps the most annoying thing about it is the swivel on one end of the strap. I suppose the logic is that the swivel is to keep the strap laying flat. My experience however is the swivel does nothing but perpetually cause a twist in the strap, making the aforementioned metal slide on the collar bone even more painful, until I stop to untwist it--literally every time I put the bag on. It might be fine if you are wearing a coat or sweater, but I can't recommend it for summer travel with lightweight clothing and open necklines. If the strap were re-designed, I would happily purchase it in another color as it really is a useful bag. But a cross-body style bag marketed for travel should be comfortable, and sadly this one is not.

I'm short, so the bag itself was very long for me—too long. If I tried to make the strap shorter, the metal buckle hit me right on my collar bone (very uncomfortable). So I just adjusted the strap so that the bag hit me between my knee & mid-thigh which was annoying when I walked but not unbearable. Again, I'm 5'1", so... That being said, it worked perfectly for what I needed it for traveling for three weeks throughout Europe. I fit a water bottle in there, you could also probably fit a mini travel sized umbrella, your credit cards, snacks, passport in zippered/locked compartment, etc. I will say that I almost lost my credit cards several times with the interior pockets inside the bags. They were very loose for one card so if I would pull something out, sometimes my cards would fly out with it (kind of scary). I just added three cards to one interior pocket to make it fit tighter. Now that I'm home, I will probably try to stitch up the openings so that they are a little tighter around my cards. I didn’t see it at the time, but probably would have ordered the hobo version of this bag because the bag itself is not as long as this one which would have made it more comfortable for me all around. If you are tall, this would work well for you. If you are short like me (see my pics), order the hobo version instead which looks almost identical in detail, just shaped better for height-challenged people IMHO.

This was an excellent travel purse! Used it for a two week trip to Europe and it was the perfect size. Strap adjusts to be just the correct length for crossbody. Side zipper on each side are different (one gold and one black), which made it easy to know which way to wear it and which side your belongings were in.

It was big enough to carry a small umbrella, , but not so big as it was bulky. If you normally carry a medium size purse, than this is a good size.

Wonderful cross body bag for daily use or for travel

Really pleased with this. I was worried it might be too big, but it's not. I bought this to replace a Baggallini cross body whose zipper broke after just a year and a half of use. I thought the gold tone trim might be too much, but it's not. It adds a nice finish to it.

Security zippers: The locking zippers is a wonderful idea. A huge problem with all Baggallni purses I've had is that zippers come open when
walking.

Straps: The straps are adjustable and have a neat clip so you can secure it to your chair in a restaurant, which is another wonderful idea. The straps are thicker than the Baggallini bags, but they are slash resistant and far more comfortable..

Pockets: Pockets galore! I love it! Two on the outside that zip and another zippered one on the inside. There are also pockets for credit cards, etc. on the inside.

It's a lightweight microfiber material that is perfect for my use. I love leather, but I don't have to worry about the rain damaging this. It's casual and dressy at the same time for my use.

I'm sold on Travelon bags and will look at others. I'm done with Baggallini bags, which aren't cheap, but they don't stand up to daily use.

Really liked the slim profile that stays close to body. Holds enough for a day bag without getting too heavy. Love that it looks like a normal bag & doesn’t scream tourist.

I purchased this bag in Sable color, for a two week trip to Italy. Although I like the neutral Sable color, it does show dirt, will try to clean it with mild soap. The Sable color is darker than it appears on the internet, really like the contrasting plum color interior lining. I locked the main compartment. I did not lock the front compartment for quick easy access to my phone used to take photos.

It was easy to access my money in the top compartment. I only took out what was needed to pay for my purchases, I never took out my money pouch. I like the rear pocket for easy access to tissue, pen, wipes. The light was handy to find things in my bag.

For sizing reference, I put an umbrella and iPad mini in the main compartment.

I did feel on the safe side for the most part. I occasionally wore it under my jacket for added security. This is because my travelling companion was pick pocketed in Florence. He kept his money in his cargo pants, was in a store, gave his wife money. They were walking through a crowd, and he did feel like he was being jostled.

Although this bag has great anti-theft features, you need to be alert, wear the bag towards the front. When in doubt, wear the bag under your jacket.

Bag is very good quality and inexpensive!

I recommend this bag, and will be purchasing an additional Travelon bag in the future.

I purchased this bag for my trip to Europe and I loved the bag a lot. It was spacious enough to put everything I would need in a day, and could even fit a water bottle or a light sweater inside. The sizing was great, big enough to fit a lot, but not with the bulky feel/look. I loved the gold zippers which complimented the black nylon exterior very nicely, which made it very suitable to dress up and down. The security clip was very useful, but a little difficult to unclip at first, but I learned to undo it quickly after a few tries. The purple interior lining and pockets were also beautiful. However, this bag was not built to last very long since the lining/zipper on the back pocket was quickly broken as the stitching came undone and it gradually gets worse. I guess it is good for short-term use when travelling, but I don't think it will last very long which is something to consider if you are looking into this purse, which I was happy about.
