I notice gear wobble in the spur gear now that I don't have the dust cover. (when I drive without the body that is) This is super common on the Rustler.
I hope to fix this with the Hot Racing slipper clutch assembly. The stock traxxas slipper clutch has the back plate closest to the transmission that causes that wobble. At first I thought it was the slipper clutch shaft that was bent. It isn't bent. I changed the transmission bearing which didn't do it either. I tried tightening and loosening the screws on the spur gear itself. It is that metal piece that is closest to the transmission where the shiny plate for the slipper clutch goes that is not perfect and causes the 'issue'.
Truth be told, the tiny 1mm wobble doesn't cause any real issues. I'm picky so I'm fixing it. I'm sure it wobbled that much for years without causing any real issues.
So going to 32P started me down the road of spur gear wobble and it sounds like that Hot Racing part will fix it and it will be perfect. Maybe my slipper clutch will work slightly better, time will tell
