I picked this book in all honesty because of the title and the cover, the price was a little up there.
In some aspects this is the typical book young man has a task and needs to fix things most books are basic that way but there are times when you find a book that is a little different and they add a little more to the book. Some would call it world building or character creation, that is true but there needs to be a little bit more and I think this book has it.
I found that this book was fun and interesting there was great character building and basic world building which allowed you to understand what is behind it all. What he did with the elves I thought was a good twist and he added a new race to boot. The so called wife was a great twist and I love how he did it.
In the end it was a good read worth the money and the author I feel good potential with the story and I am looking forward to read the next one. I would have given this five stars but I wanted hold off to see how the next book turns out for that.
I’m looking forward to book #3 and any that come after that.
Well worth the money and time.
The story was great. The characters were believable and likable - always a bonus. I would have liked to know more about what was happening with Brode and Arnach, but I realise that this is Maelgyn's story. Jumping around would not fit with the style of the story and we'll catch up with them, eventually.
I am looking forward to the sequel.
