A collection of three of Charles Swindoll’s most inspiring books: “Improving Your Serve,” “Strengthening Your Grip,” and “Dropping Your Guard.” In “Improving Your Serve,” the author examines the qualities of a servant's heart and explains the challenges and rewards of selfless living. This insightful book studies the life and teaching of the ultimate Servant, Jesus Christ. Learn the gentle art of unselfish living from a solid, biblical perspective. Within the pages of “Strengthening Your Grip,” you will find ancient truths presented in today’s terms for today’s person, facing today’s demands. Each chapter deals with a different essential that will, if applied in a personal manner, increase your confidence and your ability to cope with current crises, because it rests on the bedrock of inspired revelation, the Holy Bible. And, finally, as technology advances – email, internet, video, texting, tablets, smart phones – real human connection becomes harder and harder. If we’re not careful, each new gadget can draw us further away from the family of believers God designed us to be. If you want to experience a close community with other Christians, “Dropping Your Guard” will challenge you to escape the trap of superficiality and to develop tight bonds that will feed your soul and mature your spiritual family. Keep your relationships connected…by dropping your guard.
Top customer reviews
Hardcover - binding seems tight and durable.
Pages - wish the pages were a little brighter white.
Print - was hoping for a little larger print; print is on the hard-to-read side. (it is the print size and page color that loses this product 1 star.)
Content - these are great writings by Swindoll, representing some of his best early work on living the Christian life. Easy to read prose, down to earth style, and disarming humor throughout make these a pleasure to read. Chuck Swindoll should be declared a National Treasure!
