I was so frustrated with the main character I had to keep putting the book down. She loooves Logan but they can't be officially boyfriend girlfriend in public and so they come up with a plan to make it look like she's interested in someone else, enter Gage the 'beat me love me just don't ignore me I'll write you poetry to seem even less pathetic because that will win you over' seemingly good guy who is sooo into Skyla. Why? I. Have. No. Idea. She's a complete flake that can't stick to a damn thing let alone the big plan to keep her from being tortured, sacrificed -insert generic whatever discomfort-. Gage gets plenty oral attention since Skyla is sexually motivated by revenge and a few beers (I mean lemonade) stupidity. Dumb guy and dumb drunk girl = disaster. Or the fear of naked pictures. Seriously?
Skyla's emotions were fleeting too. Bipolar too a Hollywood exaggerated extreme. She feels bad for hurting Gage because she knows he likes her, but she'll still get drunk and try to take her clothes off for him. Skyla loves Logan and throws some girl in the pool for flirting with him but acts sad he doesn't visit her that night. Because you threw some girl in the pool! Remember the plan?! This of course is when she's had enough of the plan. How mature. Skyla is the 'crazy ex-girlfriend.'
Don't get me started on Marshall. Guess the author wanted to throw in an official male whore since we had several female volunteers from Skyla's besties and frenemies. Teen pregnancy or STDs should be a lesson in this series. Just Eww[...] It's all ok though because Skyla isn't have sex.Read more ›

What I liked:
-Writing style. Sometimes the writing flows quite nicely, and it actually kind of sounds beautiful. Read more
Gorgeous covers. Insultingly stupid, self-involved, narcissistic main character. I understand why it's optioned and why it's popular. Read morePublished 10 months ago by rekhbm

There are a lot of good concepts in this series so far. This book, while still an interesting read, feels more convoluted than Ethereal (Book #1 of the series). Read morePublished 13 months ago by KarenM of My Bookbag
