This equipment is very much a poorly conceived contraption of weak, plastic parts. It is awkwardly balanced and tends to slide around. When the cheap little fan broke I was told it would cost about $200 to replace it because it was made in Switzerland (!). Imagine my dismay at paying 2/3 the cost of the mask for this junky little part. Get this, after installing the new fan and wearing it for a week I discovered their super expensive 'Swiss' supplier had mis-wired the fan and it was running in reverse--i.e. sucking unfiltered air in and then out through the filter after washing over my face. What a joke, I got a friend to set the wiring right. What else: batteries take a long time to recharge and don't last long; parts are cheap but super expensive to replace. Check out the 3M mask mask.

I have to admit after shelling out 350$ I expected something more substantial. While I understand head gear should be light, the components that make up the Airshield are downright flimsy, poorly fitted and lack reinforcement where it needs it most- in the busses that allow the face plate to open and close. I doubt these would not last past the one year warranty period. It is uncomfortable to wear and slips constantly requiring one hand to keep it in place. After charging for 24 hrs the blower motor worked intermittently then failed altogether. I will return this piece of expensive junk to the store tomorrow.

I've had this for a couple of years and use it when I do my wood turning. It does the job I expect it to which is keep the sawdust out of my lungs. It is a little heavy to wear but you do get use to it, I've not had the problems that others have said that it does not stay on the head or the battery does not hold a charge.
