I am always worried about dropping my various electronic devices, and usually end up getting some kind of case or cover for it. The problem, for example, is turning what was a slim and tiny cell phone, into a big bulky cellphone. When I got my iPod, I found a cover just like this one to use on it. I loved it, so when I saw these for the Kindle, I ordered one when I purchased the Kindle. It fits well, looks good, and though it is not going to protect it the way a larger cover or sleeve will, it will certainly help. The only problem I have is that I bought one of the BUILT neoprene sleeves to keep my Kindle in when I am not using it, and this cover is just enough to keep it from fitting. If you have a cover for your Kindle that is a really tight fit, it probably won't work with one of these on. Still, I am glad I have it, and combined with a screen protector, I feel my Kindle is about as safe as it can be. I have seen complaints about the fit of the cheaper versions of this type of cover, but this one fits perfectly It almost looks like it is part of the Kindle. It does get really close to the "right" button on the 5-way control pad, but I have not had any problem pushing the button. Overall, I fell like it was worth the price.

This cover fits like a glove. You can access all the ports and switches without removing it. It's thin, yet protective. It keeps the Kindle from sliding on smooth surfaces. If you want even more protection, it fits inside the Kindle (lighted or not) cover without removing the Silicone cover. The light still works too. Handy if you get stuck in a collapsed mine! Now if it were only a couple of bucks like the K2 Silicone covers are.

I love to read. I have been holding books in my hands since I was 7 and never go anywhere without a book. I felt, like Robert Heinlein, that electronic readers would never..should never.. replace books. Well, the Kindle has certainly made me adjust my thinking! (Now, if only they could make it SMELL like a book!!)

So, when I put my shiny, new Kindle on the couch while I put on a sweater (a little chilly in the house),of course, the enormous horse of a puppy we call Bruin (go UCLA!) decided to jump on the couch...against the rules, Kindle or no! His paws knocked the Kindle to the hard wooden floors and, well, you probably heard me yell at your house!

The Kindle?? It was fine! Took the fall like a champ, but I suffered trauma. I knew that I couldn't stop the Kindle from falling occasionally, and find the book-like covers too heavy and bulky and then looked at my iPod, covered with an inexpensive silicone gel....thing! That would be perfect!

And it pretty darn near is! It fits like a glove, except maybe at the bottom where it has to be open and is a little flimsy. It's silky smooth and has added almost no weight to the Kindle and, while I haven't had a repeat of the Kindle vs. the floor incident, I feel confident that this gel case will give it some protection. I bought the slightly larger Belkin zippered carrying case made for the Kindle 2nd gen (at a killer sale price!) and my Kindle in its gel case fits easily! Sigh of relief all around...thank you TrendyDigital!

Maybe if I rub the Kindle on a few books?????

I was horrified at the prices for most Kindle's covers. I just bought this silicone cover and it's very nice. It's made out of a good quality, fits well my 3 generation kindle and the price was just right, but also was shipped on time!!I will recomended to anyone!

I have spent my share of money on silicone cases for other electronics such as Ipod and I wish this company had been making silicone covers for those, the kindle version for the kindle 3 is nice and thick, highly durable and fits perfectly, and to me that is so important... I hate when silicone covers are cheap and are too big but this cover is none of those things, its great, highly recommend!

Just received this a couple of days ago. Quality/build seems good with no obvious problems at the seams or excess rubber bits hanging off.

Could be a little tighter against the device - the edges around the screen and under the keyboard are a little floppy. Not a big deal. But if you put it in a bag with other stuff, you'll probably find that little bits of debris will find their way under the case.

Also not a big deal, but a fundamental error in the design is that the arrow icons over the navigation buttons on the left side are reversed. The bottom button points < and the top button points >. This is wrong. On both sides, the bottom button should be > and the top button should be <. Of course, this doesn't affect the function of the button, but it's a goof up.

This is a very good silicone cover - tight fit and good access to all the buttons and it provides enough "grippyness" which makes it very comfortable to use (I like holding it one handed, and with the silicone it is more comfortable - less stress on the thumb). However, if you are thinking this can be used w/ the Kindle cover (I have the lighted cover) I would think twice. While it will fit in the Kindle cover (and the light will work) the added bulk of the silicone causes the cover to bulge and I was concerned that it might be too much stress on the two prongs that connect the Kindle to the Cover.
