BecoPotty - the biodegradeable potty is made from natural plant fibres and ethical manufacturing. It is biodegradable. The high back offers extra support. The large splashguard helps keep potty training hygienic.
This BecoPotty is ideal for those practising Elimination Communication (taking baby to the potty when they need to go, rather than relying exclusively on diapers). The small size makes it easy to help even newborns use it, with mom or dad close behind to support their body fully.
Having said that my 2 and half yr boy had no problem using it, and the high splash guard is ideal for any boys who are potty training. The size also makes it ideal to take in the car on long journeys...
But forgetting all the above the main reasons why I love this potty and I will always recommend over all others is that its made from natural plant fibres making it so much more eco friendly than all the other potties on the market....In my eyes its a "must buy" for all parents starting their child's potty training between the age of 12mths -24ths.
It's hard to justify wasting a huge piece of molded plastic to poop in. Set an example for your kids and look out for their future. This biodegradable potty is simple and functional. It's on the small side, which I was worried about at first, but it actually means that my son sits on it in a squatting position which I think has helped him use it. The splash guard in front is plenty high enough for boys. Would definitely buy it again--in fact, I did--we have one in each bathroom.
I didn't figure this out until I took this to a used item store to sell it back because my large toddler kept saying ouch when he sat on it. I figured it was the design and they looked it up and told me that this was the infant model. Could have saved me a lot of money had it been labeled correctly. The item is constructed nicely and would be nice it I had had the correct size.
This little potty seat met all of our requirements: one-piece, easy to clean, easy to sit, and as an added bonus, sustainably made. I did place a small rag underneath of it because we have tile in our bathroom and it slides around quite a bit since there is no rubber feet on the bottom to help hold it in place. At first, it didn't seem like it was very "ergonomic" but I think that is because my son was just a little too small for it still (he started using it at 18 mos, so we put it away for a bit and now it's perfect for him at 20 mos). One thing I noticed, which is to be expected given the materials it is made from, is that after rinseing, when a little water is left to sit in the potty to dry, the fibers in the "plastic" swell a little, so there is a spot in the middle where this has happened repeatedly and it is a bit roughened now. But it doesn't slough off or anything weird, it's just not a smooth surface anymore.
This is a great potty for infants and Elimination Communication. I love that it's eco-friendly and biodegradable, lightweight and narrow. One con - it doesn't have any kind of rubber on the bottom so it doesn't stay in place and moves away on a hardwood/tile floor (with nasty noise).
The other reviewers have said it, but I wanted to emphasize it again--this thing is SMALL. My daughter is very small for her age--less than 20 pounds and not at all tall--and she is too big for this seat.
I love this potty, my son is almost 9-month old, it fits perfect, but this potty is small, if you have a big toddler, it might not fit. Also, I love it is biodegradable. So it won't go to landfill after it is done.
I agree with the first reviewer in that I love the eco-friendly aspect of this potty. But my 20-month-old daughter is in the 99th percentile for height, and she cannot sit on this potty--her legs are either in up near her ears or splayed out in front of her awkwardly.
