I have a vintage Bernina sewing machine, one of the last models to be made with all metal parts. The machine was quite an investment at the time and I want to take the best care of it for many more years to come. This is easy to use, to get into all the nooks and crannies with the tiny straw that fits on the nozzle. It doesn't take much to lube my machine. This has also been recommended to me by other Bernina owners. Could only find this on Amazon and the price was very reasonable. I also use it on a couple of my other machines to keep them purring like new, like my Singer Featherweight. I wouldn't want anything less for it. Great buy and a little goes a long way, probably won't be buying more for a few years, this should easily last that long. ~ Take care of your sewing machines! Don't forget to oil!

I got a vintage Viking 6030 sewing machine - these have a known problem of getting stuck in reverse if left unused for a long period of time. Basically, the lubrication turns to varnish. Various youtube videos recommend use of carburetor cleaner & triflow, and I'd never heard of either. (the sewing forums also seem to love this stuff)

The tri-flow order came in first, so I started using it after applying some heat (hair dryer) to the area and very painfully moving the stuck cam with a screwdriver. Moved it a few times and then left it. The next day it moved a little better and I repeated the process. After a total of 4 days doing this - just letting the heat and penetrating properties work its way into the glued areas, the reverse button now pops out on its own! Just look at that responsiveness, when I'd had to force a little motion just days ago.

I may not need the carburetor cleaner after all. I find this result just magical. New fan of tri-flow!
