Ease of Use
Adjust Humio to your desired setting with the touch of a button. Each function can operate independently or can be used simultaneously.
Humio is designed to add comfort and optimum convenience. It is the reliable and easy way to improve indoor air quality and provide soft lighting to dark rooms utilizing the latest in ultrasonic sound vibration and LED lighting technologies.
Humio for Health
Dry and heated air is often the cause of many physical discomforts such as nosebleeds, congested sinuses, dry nose, throat, lips, and itchy skin. Also, when air is left untreated it can increase the risk of static electricity, cracked furniture, flooring, cabinetry, and peeling paint or wall paper which ultimately leads to costly household repairs. With Humio you can protect your family and home by improving the air quality one room at a time.
Humio is elegantly designed to offer a soothing and relaxing ambience of shaded colors which softly illuminates and adds style to any room’s décor. Relax and enjoy the soothing lighted effects as Humio rotates from shades of red, blue and green.
With Humio, when used as a humidifier, you can choose between two levels of humidity high and low. The ultrasonic sound vibrations, created by a metal diaphragm vibrating at an ultrasonic frequency, adjusts to silently release moisture into the air providing quiet operation, optimum convenience and unsurpassed air quality.
Compared to vaporizers which boil water and release a warm steam making a room feel muggy if overused, Humio releases a cool mist which can be used all day without interruption and discomfort also eliminating the risk of burn to young children. Plus, there are no cumbersome filters to replace which lead to added cost.

Update: I did not have any further problems with black spots - wonder if somehow the original purchase may have been a return that had been used and not completely dried out. Anyway, I purchased another one, so now have two and have absolutely no problems with either since the initial cleaning of the first one. Oh, btw, baking soda is a great way to clean mold and does not have the effects of bleach.
I rinsed it, put 3 drops of lavender oil that came with it in the sponge compartment, filled it & plugged it in.
Instantly my room felt like a spa. Calming lavender aroma with soothing lights that change color & a nice mist. U can use it only as a humidifier, night light, or both. I have owned 4 other humidifiers & this is by far my fave. I did a lot of research before I ordered it & highly recommend. It's also attractive and compact. Fits anywhere. if u are a natural, "green" person like me & like fragrances but not all the chemicals that come with them, & like to use a humidifier, then this machine is for you! You won't be sorry. I am in love.
Its small size and light weight makes it convenient to move from the den/computer room where it runs all day to the bedroom where it runs all night.
The tank holds exactly what is claimed - 1/2 gallon.
A full tank at the high humidity setting (there are two settings) lasts 8-9 hours.
When the tank is empty, the light blinks three times and the unit automatically shuts off.
The neck twists off to make it easier to fill in a shallow sink.
The design is aesthetically pleasing, but, despite its familiar shape and emanating vapors, neither Barbara Eden nor any other genie ever appears.
When the tank empties, water still remains in the base - it's never used. The owner's manual recommends emptying the base every 24 hours to avoid bacterial growth.
Although the design is attractive, it's not functionally effective. It's very smooth and can easily slip from your hands if wet and it's very easy to get it wet.
Placing the tank on the base is often a hit or miss affair even though there's a tiny dot on the tank to match up with a similar dot on the base. The dot is only a reference - there are three protuberances between the tank and the base that must fit in their respective depressions before it's correctly placed. (See photo).
The tank rests on the base using gravity - they're not securely connected. If you plan to lift the entire unit by the neck, you'll only separate the tank from the base. I keep the unit in a small 9-10" diameter bowl which makes it easier for me to carry around.
If you use tap water, it'll emit white dust. Distilled water is recommended by Tribest, but I don't know if it helps because I never tried it.Read more ›
Fine while it's working, but do not leave totally unattended.
Lighting MUCH more reliable than humidifier. Fortunately, can be stopped on a particular color, rather than distracting multi-colored rotation.
So many nooks and crannies and parts, making it difficult to clean. And it DOES need regular cleaning, even though I've used filtered water and thoroughly rinsed before each refill.
For some unknown reason, it eventually began to make a humming noise at times and became erratic with the humidification stream, with sometimes no stream.
Recently began to seriously leak in puddles. Fortunately, had it sitting in a level saucer which caught some of the water. UNfortunately, it was sitting on my hardwood floor. As has been suggested in an answer to similar complaints, this is NOT a user error, as the leak was a sudden and recent malfunction, again, for no apparent reason. This unit couldn't have been more gently used and had better care. And yes, I read instructions.
Two stars, trying to be fair, only because it did work for a brief while. To me, nearly $100 does not qualify as disposable. Buyer beware.
Update: after 2+ years it stopped working and I was told I am out of luck since the warranty is only a year. I would stay away
