They dominate medical research, conceal negative trial results and sell us outrageously expensive medicines, about the ineffectiveness and risks of which they have long been aware. And in the process the managers in the pharmaceutical industry generate the highest profits of any sector.
I haven't been able to get past the influenza vaccination bit; the birth control section really got me going - all the information regarding the various birth control pills and their risks of thrombotic events are available to anyone and everyone who lives in the "west." Sorry but I take over 3 dozen types of medications to LIVE and from a VERY early age I read every booklet that came with the medication and compared whatever medication I was taking at the time to others in its class - a practice in which I still engage. It is up to the patient to be his/her own advocate - it is not really the doctor's responsibility to say "hey, maybe because of x, y, z this pill isn't my best option" - it is the doctor's job to prescribe something he/she thinks might work well for you. I had to go through at least 10 different types of birth control pills before I found one that didn't affect me negatively. It's like any consumer product - sorry, but unless the medication is tainted or manufactured incorrectly, etc., the burden of consumption, in my mind, lies with the consumer. If you're looking for a birth control pill and you haven't done your research and can pretty much list off all the common pills on the market and which as safest regarding your specific concerns, etc., and something BAD happens, you're just angry and looking for someone to blame. Medications are foreign substances we put into our bodies. Our bodies are MEANT to menstruate; taking a pill that stops that inevitably has a side effect and risk profile. All medications which alter the body in this and other ways do. End rant part 1. Part 2 - regarding the flu vaccine, those of us who are pro-vaccination have the last laugh on this one as well - I realize this video is from 2011, but recent research has shown that if one does get a severe case of the flu (sans flu shot), the INFLAMMATION from that ONE CASE of the flu can cause heart attacks, strokes, etc. 10 years down the line. JUST THE INFLAMMATION FROM HAVING A PREVENTABLE FLU. Think about that. And that's just what we know now - meaning there is so much more we just don't know. It's really incredible to me - I learn more and more every day and it's fascinating to me. The problem arises when these doofuses like many of the "experts" in this video THINK they know it all and it's so bloody impossible! There are several vaccinations I personally cannot get due to adverse effects ... does that mean I'm vehemently against them? No! If you can tolerate them, you should get them! As far as the "anti-flu" drug(s) goes(go), it/they have saved my life when I caught a strain of the flu that hadn't been covered by the year's flu vaccine. Literally saved my life. Like 105F+ fever saved my life.
As I am currently studying for a Master's in Biomedical Writing and learning to navigate the world of regulatory writing and prescription labeling, I found this documentary absolutely fascinating. I am from the UK and now live and work int he USA, so I found the apparent lack of concern over blatant conflicts of interest shocking, although I am not naive enough to assume this doesn't happen, albeit more covertly (until they get caught) in the UK and USA. I like the straightforward presentation of the facts; this is rare in US produced documentaries, as they tend to go for shock value, than I am less inclined to take what they are trying t say seriously. In the spirit of the nature of this documentary: I have no disclosures, I do not work for Pharma nor do I have any kind of agenda regarding any of the drugs mentioned herein. I am a scientist working as a grant writer in an academic clinical and research institution. I verified some of the sources mentioned in the documentary.
In this documentary, you'll learn a few critical things. I was most amazed by the fact that anti-acid reflux of the proton-inhibitor variety (the most popular types today) cause food allergies in adults, youths, and the unborn by inhibiting digestive juices that prevent proteins from getting into the lower gut and causing an immune reaction. No wonder our children have so many food allergies today. Important stuff that I wish the government and mainstream news would be more helpful in informing us of...
This documentary reconfirms the sinister machine of big pharma, the medical community and even our government all tied up into one. There are massively wealthy individuals, families and incredibly wealthy foundations who have a huge stake in maintaining their umbelieveable wealth and power. It's not just a little bit greedy. These people aren't happy until they own it all, including us, taking everything they can until we are dead Wake up people.
Confirms suspicion of Big Pharma. Many years ago I found a pamphlet from pharmacy to reps to sway DR to use insulin for patients right away. Today my RX cost 1000 dollars for insulin. The same drug cost 2.70 for another patient.Doctors and reps get big kickback bonus for superscribing drugs for patients.Gifts junctions luncheons trips trinkets. You can not go into a doctors office with out a hundreds of subtle ads Big Pharma is the root of commercialization of medicine, research .etc. The 400 % mark up allowed is outrageous.Third world country's are bombarded by formula ads and propaganda as opposed to breast milk. When traveling to Mexico to immunize children the cost of the MMR thru WHO was prohibited by the built in liability cost. Watch it and be outraged. Physicians who buck the system are unable to make it financially.
Hooray for great Doctors who care about people! The Doctors who spoke out on this subject should have statues erected in celebration of them upholding the oath they took when they became doctors and for having the courage to do right in a world which obviously doesn't anymore. Everyone responsible for this documentary are heroes! Thank you all for caring.
