Tay while swimming with the dolphins happens to see a man well a half man half machine swimming and is then injured. Tay is a son of Poseidon and a healer he knows he must save the guy plus heal him. Tay’s action leads him to become a modern day hero a Navy SEAL as a swimmer. When Tay meets Marney he can’t resist her allure. Tay wants Marney but does she even want him after she finds out the truth about who Tay really is. I totally just loved Tay he was just an awesome hero strong, funny, handsome and a demigod so what’s not to like? Marney was wonderful for him smart, beautiful, feisty and good for him. I did hope that she becomes like Tay and is able to have a family with him. I rated the story four stars because I felt there could be more.
Corporal Karia Bayne close to the end of her shift sees an amazing sight a man diving straight into the bay. When Karia decides to go after him she is called to a golf course and a possible drowning where she meets Kerk Lesander a man who she doesn’t quite believe his story. No normal man can do that swim the entire bay or can they? Karia is fascinated with Kerk and he with her, is it love. What happens if Karia learns that Kerk is actually the son of Poseidon and can Kerk actually be in love? I couldn’t help but fall instantly for Kerk. Yes he seemed a little cold at first but I understand why I still liked him anyway. Karia seemed a little harsh until she loosened up then became someone I definitely wanted to hang with. I do hope that Luc gets a story someday. I wouldn’t mind stories about all of Kerk’s buddies even though they would just be regular guys. I rated the story four stars not because it wasn’t good I just wanted it longer too.
The second novella, "The Immortal SEA" by Kathryn Le Veque, was more developed and the ending was far more satisfying and completed. Kathryn Le Veque NEVER disappoints! I'd give this story 5 stars.
The premise for both novellas was definitely intriguing and I'd enjoy reading more of these; however, full length novels would be preferable. I normally don't waste my time reading novellas because I barely get into it and it is all over. But, that is my personal preference and should not detract from the quality of the collection.
Sharon Hamilton is a new Author to me, and her SEAL OF TIME story captured my interest. Our Hero, Tay, and Heroine, Marney, are caught up in a whirlwind romance, quite unexpectedly, they find their soulmate in each other....but obstacles must be overcome for them to arrive at a Happily Ever After...I do not want to give too much of the story away, so I will say you simply must read it to experience the magic! The ending is very satisfying, and left me wanting to read more about this special couple's life together!
Kathryn Le Veque's contribution to this set was a delight! I loved getting to see Kerk Lesander in action in modern times...Le Veque does
such an amazing job with this novella, you can feel the character's undeniable attraction for the other...It is a captivating, exciting, and
Don't miss this spectacular collection!
The first , by Sharon Hamilton, is the story of Tay and Marney. They had a whirlwind meeting and romance in which they fell for each other completely. Tay's special abilities are able to save Marney and others from dire situations in the storyline. Tay also contemplates his past throughout his history versus a future with a mortal woman, and has major decisions to make for both of them.
The second novella, by Kathryn LeVeque told more of medieval knight, Kirk Le Sanders, who as a son of Poseidon, is also an immortal. He has always run from love for fear of losing his immortality, because although it carries certain burdens, it also bring responsibilities. Kirk was a character in another LeVeque novel, and it's great to hear more of his story. Kirk meets a policewoman while saving a drowning boy. Karia, who lives alone with her dog and has had enough of men for awhile, knows that there's something different about Kirk, but she's about to find out how right she is on THAT one!
I really enjoyed the stories, and found the premise of love vs immortality compelling. I think other readers will too. I am hoping both stories will either be expanded or have sequels, or we'll read of future characters from these two stories as both were vastly entertaining. I highly recommend these to romance readers who enjoy contemporary, historical, and just a tiny a bit of the paranormal all mixed in together.
