My son is a high rise window washer and does Brazilian jiu jitsu, so he is always hunched over whether it’s from his harness pulling his shoulders down for 8+ hours a day or grappling at the gym. Needless to say, for a 26 year old, his posture is terrible due to it, and he’s always in pain whether it’s his back or shoulders. Heating pads never work, nsaid’s are a waste of pills that do nothing so why bother taking medication that don’t work? He gets this in the mail and starts rolling around the problem areas and while it looked like he was in pain, it’s massaging deep in the tissue. Unlike a foam roller, its able to target specific areas and he can pin point the problem areas to massage and get to hard to reach areas that regular foam rollers just can’t get to like upper biceps and your traps. After 20 minutes of massaging the areas. He stood up and his muscle pains, while not fully gone, were knocked down TREMENDOUSLY! And this is just after the first use. He’s so excited to continue using it because it’s only uphill from here. I know this is a drawn out review, but I absolutely recommend this to anyone with muscle pains. It will sincerely help.

This was a great roller ball when it arrived. It was firm but not too hard. After about 4 months of using it maybe 4 or 5 times a week, I noticed that the outside layer seemed to have separated from the ball inside, but it still worked pretty well. A couple months after that, the outside layer broke one morning and white powder started coming out everywhere. The previous TP ball that I had lasted years. This one, 6 months. For the cost, it's just not worth it.

Compared to a lacrosse ball, it’s lighter for travel and not as harsh on the trigger points for beginners. Good first step for trigger point release.
However, a lacrosse ball goes deeper because it is more firm, that means it’s more painful, but the results are much more satisfying. If you currently use a lacrosse ball, you will be disappointed with this softer ball.

Can be a lifesaver, educate yourself on the triggerpoints and use this ball to release those knots does wonders to quality of daily living. I have the regular density ball also but I got used to its softness so I upgraded to this firm one, no pain no gain, its a good pain. Hurts so good.

One amazing thing is that I accidently crushed this ball under my computer seat while I was sitting on the chair, I rolled the seat wheels and arms onto this ball crushing it and it made a nasty fissure, it was no longer a perfect shaped ball but after about 1 week, the ball actually reformed itself back to a perfectly shaped ball again. I would say amazing material they use. A+++

A contender to chronic pain

I sprang for one of TriggerPoint's hollow core GRID rollers years back. It's been invaluable for everything from pain management to yoga to physical therapy, all without showing signs of wear or tear regardless of use frequency. When it comes to self-guided deep tissue and fascial work, though, a massage ball just can't be beat. Tennis balls aren't fantastic for somebody built like a lumberjack, and lacrosse balls can be agonizing due to the chronic pain I'm trying to manage. With all those factors in mind, I sprang for this – and wow, am I glad I did.

The high density foam has great structure, with enough give to not be pure agony when rolling over bone or particular tense tissue. This ball is rather light, though I found this made rolling on it smoother, and the density meant it never went flying off. While these things are hard to picture, you can see how well it holds shape even while trying to crush it with one hand, and my grip strength is nothing to sneeze at 5 months into walking with crutches.

Most importantly, though, I could not be happier with the performance. This thing destroyed adhesions and knots in my back that only Flexiril had managed to help, loosened up my fascial tissue, and realigned my neck with its first use. While it may not have cured all of my pain for eternity, this is certainly the best I've felt in a long while. And considering I've been on bedrest for a resurgence of poor health and pain, anything that can offer this much relief is absolute bliss.

As far as I'm concerned, this little ball may as well be magic. There might be better options out there depending on your needs, but this was well worth the price of admission for me.

I have both the TP MB1 and MBX, both of which have helped me greatly. But my progress has been slowed by inability to work on glutes do to severe pain. The MB5 changed all that in one self massage. cramp in butt is finally gone after over one month and I can walk normally which I have not been able to do for a month.MB5 works great for just about every area I have tried it on. No matter which of these balls you get, you are getting quality. LaCrosse ball way to hard. Tennis ball, worthless.

I have been having major issues with a trigger point in my back. It got to the point where I have been having my husband who is an orthopedic physician assistant inject it with cortisone. I used it a few times. At first, hmm, I thought this was great - it's super light compared to a lacrosse ball. But after a while, I feel like it just didn't deliver enough pressure to the tender spots on the soles of my feet just because it doesn't have that rigidity to it being a foam ball. And the lettering around the logo is already starting to peel off after just a few uses.

Quite frankly, I feel like the build quality of this ball isn't nearly worth its price tag. Returning.

I've used it on my bed and really placed all weight on knot. Gone. Using it on a wall is nice because it's sort of anti slip. So it does not move a around. It rolls and you can control it will. I love it. Will buy more.
