I picked up this book after starting to read the unblog that Brother John keeps. I found his words on his blog resonating with my own spiritual path and found great power in the words. This book is his blog on steroids. I have felt compelled to seek this path of inner Zion with great fervor, and this book has guided me in my study of the scriptures. There is nothing new, or innovative within the text. In fact it is a call to remember what has been in front of us since the restoration of the Gospel. If you're even reading this comment, then I believe you have felt this stirring yourself. Whether of not you choose to use this book as a help in your journey, listen to the call. This book has information that is not for the weak in faith! It is not an easy reader, and it requires your full attention! It is full of Gospel-centered information that you will never hear at church! I am deeply grateful to Mr Pontius for his contribution (in all his books) to my understanding of the things that were well-known in the early days of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, but have not been continually taught in our day. If you are searching for something more than what you are hearing in church, than this book as well as others by Mr Pontius will give you the answers you are seeking. All of the claims Mr Pontius makes in his books are backed by reliable sources, and if you want more than what you are currently receiving in your Gospel studies, than his books are for you! --Amazon

I normally don't do book reviews, but this book is too good to pass on a review. John Pontius recently passed away due to cancer. He is greatly missed!! In his book he lays out the details of how a person can turn their heart and will over to God to make of them what He will. We can build Zion in our hearts here and now and will be prepared for the second advent of the Lord when he comes. How exciting!! This is a very good book and a very interesting read. --Amazon

The attainment of Zion is the greatest blessing that any person can reach in this life, and yet so little is known about it. The beauty of this book is that it defines what Zion is, how to obtain it, and the gifts, blessings, empowerments, and privileges that precede and accompany becoming a zion individual and society. I have been a truth seeker all my life, and I can honostly say that this book is the most profound book outside of Holy Writ that I have ever read on how to recieve the fullest blessings of God IN THIS LIFE. John Pontius is a very gifted writer, but the truths that he writes about in his book did not originate from him; there are literally hundreds of quotes from ancient as well as modern prophets and apostles that he gives to let the reader know that these blessings, as wonderful as they are, are not his views alone. All the holy prophets from the beginning have longed for the day when Zion would be built up in all its glory, but they knew that that time was reserved for the last days, the days we are now living in. To those who fear the events that are soon to come upon the earth, I strongly recommend this book for you because what most people don't know is that the greatest and most glorious events are soon to come also. We have ignored the Call of Zion long enough. Zion must be build before the Savior can return and here is a volume that can help you understand what is required and how you can bring it into your own life.

I have read this book many times. It is one of my favorites due to its clarity and the power of the Spirit that testifies of the truths contained within its pages. I have gifted many copies of this book to friends and acquaintances and they, in turn, are now gifting to others.

This Book Will Transform Mormons into Latter-Day-Saints

Those who belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints should be the happiest, most fulfilled people on Earth - but they're not, because the vast majority do not understand the principles in this book. It is worth the read even for the discussion on this one very simple and seemingly obvious truth - that the only way to Come Unto Christ is to obey His voice. It's not about doing more than the other guy, worrying about titles, or the many other vain and foolish doctrines that boil down to temporal comparisons among church members. There are no fringe or obscure doctrines in this book. It's as basic as faith itself.

The author enlightens you (yes, ordinary you) to your personal invitation from Christ to enjoy His literal presence in THIS LIFE, which equates to becoming a Zion individual. Bro. Pontius shows so plainly that the scriptures and the prophets say so in no uncertain terms - yes the same ones you may have always known but thought were for someone else far more righteous than you, or that couldn't possibly apply to you until long, long, after you were dead and resurrected and completed a few rehab classes in the Millennium. The reader who embraces the perspectives of this book will emerge from the harried, seemingly 'never quite enough' culture of routine church membership, into the refreshing air of true discipleship that the Lord desires for every single one of His Latter-Day-Saints.

This is one of the best books I have ever read. It is in complete agreement with the messages we are hearing today in General Conference by our living Prophets and Apostles. This is a message that eventually every Latter Day Saint needs to receive, one way or another. It is a message of light, of hope, of joy, of salvation! It blasts apart the darkness and destructive forces at work in so many lives which mockingly whisper that keeping all the commandments and receiving the higher spiritual blessings of the gospel is impossible for the average person. On the contrary, Pontius teaches that anyone and everyone can, through faith, revelation, and obedience, be sanctified and be brought back into the literal presence of Jesus Christ; as the Last Days unfold, this blessing will include the blessing of translation for those who build and reside in ZION. What a beautiful message! This book simply offers an additional witness to these things which are plainly taught in scripture and in the annuls of church history and doctrine.

This book is a bit deep. Accordingly, I would only recommend it to endowed Latter Day Saints who love the Lord; otherwise, this book will only confuse you and irritate you.

I have read the first book of John Pontius and bought several to share members of my extended family and it was like a light came on of how to really live what is taught by LDS authorities. I have read and listen to the doctrine of being more Christ-like and how important it is in having a genuine relationship with the Savior. To me the LDS General Authorities talk about the principles and doctrines of the gospel on a general level. With his first book and this book, The Triumph of Zion, John Pontius again shares scripture and quotes from LDS authorities about Zion, and shares insights of how to inculcate these principles on a everyday level and also in terms that made sense to me and also that I, as a person, could strive to be a Zion person; and this is an important point that is reiterated in several different ways to make me realize that I want and could to be Christ-like. And now seeing the chaos and corruption all around us, relying on the "arm of flesh", wont make it, only by helping establish Zion and being apart of a Zion society and exercising the power of the priesthood is there safety and also in such a society are we able to be of service to the people who are the honest in heart and seek such refuge. I am on my third read of this book because I want to learn and be a Zion person.
