I’ve owned and frequently played the original Trivial Pursuit version since 1982, but over the years it’s become very outdated and challenging for younger family members! This version caps out in 2009, but even our 18 year old son was able to play well. We have really enjoyed this version, so much so that I do wish there were more questions. I really like that some of the answers include explanations, especially the answers that may sound incorrect. What’s different than the original version: explanations for some answers, a battery operated timer, and 3D pie pieces. Overall, a great upgrade!

It’s common to find an old Trivial Pursuit game sets in other people’s homes or offices. And they’ve held up to time. The cards are wore and the board is spotty. But it’s still a solid quality product. Well no more. The box I just received had cards almost as thin as printer paper. And a ridiculous timer that requires a Phillips screwdriver and 2 AAA batteries just to play a simple static filled tune.

The questions seems to be updated. And there really isn’t any other choice... if you wanna own and play a game of TP, you gotta get this disposable version.

I love this game back in the 1980s and 90s. However trying to play my original Trivial Pursuit game from that time frame doesn't work very well. The questions are very outdated on the old version, which is why I ordered this new version. The questions are perfect. My 14 and 17 year old kids had a blast, although we do typically play the shorter version where you get a wedge for any questions answered correctly, not just on the wedge space. I gave four stars on good for traveling because it is a large item with small pieces oh, so you would not be able to play this on the plane or somewhere that you did not have a fairly large table space to put the board on. Overall a great game, educational and fun for kids even as young as 14.

Love this edition! I wish we played it more. It has so many questions (though you have to make sure you use a different box or use it from a different end to avoid getting the same questions when you play at a different time - I hope that makes sense.) I highly recommend it. Good quality. Can see it lasting for many, many years. Also, we adjusted the rules so that any time you answer a question you get the wedge of that color...otherwise the game takes too long. If you buy it and play it you'll know what I mean!

Big fans of Trivial Pursuit, so we were looking forward to an updated version. This has been our least favorite. The questions are completely random, and many don't fit into the category they should. Disappointed we spent money on it. After 2 plays I doubt we ever open it again.

I have very fond memories playing this as a child even though I rarely knew the answers. With this version made in 2010, not only do I know some answers, my two teenagers and 9 year old son know quite a few answers as well! My teenager won the last game we played.

With that said, some of the questions are categorized a little funky. For example, Geography: "What 2009 sci-fi film takes place on a moon called Pandora?" I would have put that one in Entertainment.

Bottom line is it's a blast and provides hours of family fun... and you'll learn something to boot!

This version of Trivial Pursuit is fun but it suffers from question with uneven difficulties. Some question are way too easy, like grade school level question, and others are extremely obscure, which can make the game feel more like a luck of the draw type game. Another con I have is that the timer doesn't have a Stop/Reset button, so you have to wait out the whole song every time. Pros for this board game are good quality pieces, a lot of cards.
