Got this for my Syrian hamster, but the Savic Hamster Heaven cage is not tall enough for it. I gave it to my female rats (they are small rats) in a large rat skyscraper Martin cage and they will not play w it at all. It is still in pristine condition and nothing else they enjoy is. The hammock can only hold one rat curled up as this toy is not really made for rats- not a fault of the toy, but keep in mind it is really more for somethign the size of a Syrian or smaller.. My male rats are too big for it. It's made OK, but my rats don't like it. If you wanted to wash the hammock, it would take some effort to get it off the metal parts. If you have a cage made for Syrians, measure to be sure this will fit as a lot of cages made for them are not all that tall since they are generally not avid climbers.

This has been hanging in my hamster's cage for a week. He sniffed it and looked it over, but I've never seen him in it. So for me, it was not a good solid toy/activity for him. I'm happy to see others that reviewed this and their hamsters are enjoying it, but mine is not. I think it's a nice item, it's nicely made and I will keep it, but according to my hamster - it's a thumbs down.

My sugar gliders (SG) were curious the first day but since then they have ignored the the this product. Some things I noticed on the first day was that the SGs didn't like the wood ladders. They struggled with the spacing and they had a hard time perching on them. The SGs did like the Hammock. Too small for adult SGs, but it was funny watching play king of the hammock. Lot of aerobatics. But now they ignore the hammock as well.

I will say the quality is there, but I would not buy again.

My Syrian Hamster fits in this great. It took her no time to try it out. I adjusted her hammock a bit. I shortened the hanging length and also disconnected the top of the ladder so it hung down. She loves it!

My rats do like to play with it and climb around. The materials are all decent quality especially for price. Just quite small for what I thought. One big rat takes up all of the hammock part and then some. Not a good relaxing place.

I expected the hammock to be larger it is literally no bigger than the palm of my hand. This would not be good for any small critter bigger than a mouse or a very very young rat. It is otherwise solidly created. If they made this with everything on it larger I'd consider giving a better review.

I got these for my mums little rat babies Chuck and Norris as they were starting to get bigger and needed a bigger cage with more space (which I was getting her for christmas). It fit perfectly and both boys absolutely love it... They're huge now, but haven't at all chewed through it and still very much love sleeping on it. If you think of treating ya rat babies to some fun new stuff, get them one of these!

Very large but can be modified

I bought two of these one for my Russian, one for the Syrian (see pic). On the whole, I do like this item. It has a large hammock suspended from a wooden rack with a ladder and a thick hoop with cube. It's very large. I have an extra large hamster cage (pets-at-home) for the Syrian and it's too large for the cage. If the cage was taller and I could hang this from the roof properly it would be ideal but my cage needs to be a foot taller for the product to be used as intended.
Luckily, it's all held together by split ring hoops so it's not too difficult to take it to bits and place it around the cage separately. The hammock is hung but it's suspended from the rings. The ladder is attached to side of cage and the hoop and cube hang from the opposite side. Did same with the Russians cage but I didn't use all the components, his cage is too small to take them all. Bit of a hassle and more than a few broken nails with the split ring hoops but it is a decent product. Just far larger than expected.

This Hammock and Playbridge was purchased for my 11 year old daughter's 1 year old Syrian Hamster. Cookie her hamster is one of the biggest Syrians we have ever had and we've had 4 over my lifetime. So gaining toys suitable for her are paramount.
Our Hamster's cage is a very tall one and that helped as one side has a large drop where this hammock can be modified to fit if needed, although we were lucky enough to be able to use it as it comes.

We actually bought this to replace a humongous one bought elsewhere that had no chance of ever fitting a reasonable hamster cage, even our large one. It was more suited to a chipmunk aviary or something.

Anyway, I was pleased when this hammock/bridge came well made, vibrantly coloured and was welcomed by an adventurous Syrian hamster who immediately went through the hoop and then sat on the hammock which was encouraged by giving her a treat as soon as she sat on it.

My daughter is always searching for new toys for her hamster, it is extremely spoiled and well loved. I am so happy that this toy pleased both her and the hamster. Thank you for a quality product.

Great for Syrians

I bought this for my Syrian and it’s perfect. It’s a lot bigger and hangs lower than I thought it would.
It’s built from pretty sturdy material, rope, wood and chains. He tends to use the sling more than anything else, for grooming, he seems to like it when it sways.
This would be perfect for gerbils and rats as it’s has a ladder running across the top and rope stairs up one side which my hammie doesn’t bother with. It does take up quite a lot of room so having a high cage is a must. It would just dangle on the floor otherwise. I have the extra large Trixie cage with three shelves and it’s even a little low for that. It can’t really be shortened with the chains at the top as that would result in the ladders that run across the top deemed useless unless they aren’t needed. I do like hanging toys as it frees up floor space for hiding treats
I would recommend it, it’s good value for money. I would check the dimensions though to make sure you have enough room.
