- Reviewed in the United States on April 12, 2019Due to issues with shipping, I didn't receive the original product, but they were able to send me over a new copy for free. It came a bit dinged up on the corners, but nothing too noticeable. The story is great so far, with amazing art, as well. Price is a bit high considering it was originally sold at $9.99, but someone's gotta make money somewhere. All in all, good purchase, 5/5 would recommend.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 28, 2011As someone who enjoyed watching both Tron films, I can't help but feel really intrigued by the universe and the world that Disney has created. I feel there is so much potential to expand and explore this world outside of the film medium. This book confirmed that such an endeavor would be well worth it. Tron: Betrayal is a very tightly written book, which tries to show exactly what happens in Flynn's newly created world after he takes over Encom, and it lays downs the beginnings for the eventual upheaval by Flynn's own creation, Clue. The artwork does a wonderful job of telling the story on it's own. Both pencils and coloring do the world justice and replicate the visual brilliance of the films. This tale is great exercise of irony, and it really challenges the notion of what digital worlds will mean to future of humanity. The book balances itself well between Flynn, Tron, and Clue to create the perfect backdrop for Tron: Legacy. It also does a better job at explaining where and how the isomorphs came into being and why they became such a source of conflict between Flynn and Clue. If you have any interest in all at seeing the world of Tron beyond the movies, I would highly recommend reading this book. It's worth your attention and time.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 23, 2010Format: PaperbackVerified PurchasePretty much what the other reviews have said, it explains more in depth to details that the film doesn't. It adds more to the film if you read this before you see it. The story & artwork is great for this. I actually read it in one sitting, it only took about an hour or so to read it all. The graphic novel also includes an 11-page retelling of the original Tron movie, which I thought was really "radical, man!"
Fans of Tron, definite buy. People looking to get into Tron, definitely read or buy. (I loved the movie, still don't see why so many people are down on it.)

Format: PaperbackVerified Purchase「
