Top Customer Reviews
1) 0 Watt measured draw without devices connected. Not a Vampire draw device.
2) On/off switch on back. If you do want to switch it off you can without having to unplug.
3) Seemingly underrated on power. I was able to pull 19-20 watts on one device and our phones charged at 15-16 watts which is a little higher than the OEM charger.
4) Good quality build. It feels substantial not cheap or hollow.
Cons, I have not really found any. It is a little larger but with 5 ports thats going to happen.
Rav power pack. 11.7V 1.715A 19.99W - nearly 2 watts over the rated amount
Note 4's 8.94V 1.71A 15.28W - as fast or faster than the OEM charger
Galaxy tab pro 12.2 5.3V 1.70A 9W - ran as high as 10w to start.
Nook HD+ 5.33V 1.935 10.32W - As fast as it normally charges
This is a whole family charger. This will cover everyone for charging. Especially with quick charge which makes topping off batteries so much quicker. Add to that the fact that every port is quick charge and no one will be fighting for that one spot as on other chargers.
I can happily report that this charger works with the Moto X Pure's QC 2.0 implementation. I can get from 10% to 75% full in less than 15 minutes and on the lock screen it says "Charging rapidly". In the xda-developers forums, there are posts of people with this phone and Tronsmart charger (not sure if its this model or another Tronsmart model) who say it does not work, so YMMV.
All I can say is I have 2 Anker QC chargers and 3 other multiple USB outlet chargers (China brands not from Amazon) that are QC 2.0 compatible. They do work with my other QC 2.0 and 1.0 devices but not the Moto X Pure. This Tronsmart model here is the first one I have tried that works.
Besides Moto X Pure compatibility, this is a solid charger. It feels heavy, like it is solidly built. There is a LED to indicate that it is on. The power cable is not long but its not short. The USB ports are spaced well so there is never an issue of plugs blocking or interfering with each other. I even like the choice of green in the USB ports.
I guess I could say that this is not portable due to its size and weight, which could be a complaint, but this is clearly marketed as a desktop charger. More than 5 USB ports would probably be nice, QC 3.0 compatibility would be nice but I am reaching for negatives.
Bottom line: I can't find anything to complain about which is rare. This is a solid charger, go ahead and buy it.
I registered on the website, as well, on 12/27/06.
It's now 1/17/17, and In the last 48 hours, of the five ports on it, two have stopped working to charge devices.
I have powered the device off and on again, waiting for the LED to go out (to reset the internal circuitry), I have tried replacing the cables on those ports (I tested with 4 different cables), and different devices (an Amazon Fire 7, an Amazon Fire 8, and two different Samsung Galaxy S6 phones).....but the ports no longer work to charge devices.
I have contacted email@example.com to ask for a replacement.
Update, 1/26/17: Tronsmart emailed me back within 24 hours, asking me to send a screenshot of the purchase (so they could determine the seller), and to make a video. a direct quote:
"Also,Please kindly send us a short video for us to check out the
problem so that we can better help you solve it."
I have responded to them with the screen shot and video. It took me a couple of days to get this figured out (I'm not much of a video creator).
Update: 2/4/17, after a few emails about not being available because of Chinese New Year, they said they had not received the screen shot, or video. I have resent the screenshot, and video.
