What can I say? This is one of my favorite franchises. I've been playing since Tropico 3 and this is a marked improvement. One thing I hate about this game is that it often requests quests that will impact you negatively. You will probably not win if all you do is follow directions of the AI. But you will definitely not win if you just ignore all the requests from the AI. Campaign was super long, as around game 4, I felt a bit cheated by the game mechanics, which sometimes requested quests that were nearly impossible to finish. I'm thinking of the tourist map, particularly, as the quest was calling for 300 concurrent tourists, and a crap economy that never grabbed a firm foothold. I frequently found myself at the whims of these impassable scenarios. I also wish I could find out certain things like WHERE I should place a residence for full occupancy, that will impact my homeless sims.

For all of those who thought they were buying an actual game on the disc, this is your warning. It still uses the STEAM platform so if you are anything like me and have non stop problems with STEAM stay away from this.

The game itself is awesome though!!

I found that the remedy to the crash bug is to roll back your graphics driver via device manager. Loading screen may still take minutes, but the game works... nfs heat and nfs payback has the same issue.

I have played 3-6, and while the soundtrack, graphics and some parts of gameplay have really improved, the game overall is buggy as hell. Teamsters don't function well, the economy is hard to manage (in several ways, teamsters will walk clear across the island to pick stuff up instead of grabbing stuff nearby and bringing it to the closes dock, etc). If you can't suss out exactly what type of economy the individual mission is steering you to build your economy will tank without explanation. You can have 99% overall approval and lose the election. Many of the maps are beautiful, but buggy in ways that make it extremely difficult to lay road or place buildings. Overall not good, don't recommend.
