Editorial Reviews

Meet 35-year-old Morris Bliss (Michael C. Hall). He is clamped in the jaws of New York City inertia: he wants to travel but has no money; he needs a job but has no prospects; he still shares an apartment with his widowed father (Peter Fonda); and, perhaps worst of all, the premature death of his mother still lingers and has left him emotionally walled up. When he finds himself wrapped up in an awkward relationship with the sexually precocious, 18-year-old daughter (Brie Larson) of a former classmate, Morris quickly discovers his static life unraveling and opening up in ways that are long overdue.

I'm not really sure what I just watched. I watched it the whole way through but I couldn't tell you what the movie was about. I'm not sure it really had an actual story line. With that being said, I would watch it again.

If you like your movie thoughtful and smart and funny. If you pay attention you'll catch all the deeper meanings behind the dialogue. It's quirky and off-beat and ultimately, very heartwarming and lifting. Great cast, great acting, and great storytelling.

I watched this movie twice and saw & understood more the second time through. It has something to say if you pay attention.

Wow, this was honestly one of the worst movies I have ever seen. Literally nothing happens , and I mean nothing . My wife and I watched the movie , and we kept thinking something was going to happen, but nothing ever did. It was just bad. It was so bad that if a friend of mine told me they liked it , that would be an automatic end to our friendship .

It was interesting and a little weird. Excellent acting in this offbeat film. The characters are superficial but quirky. I liked how things unfolded and answers to "why" are slowly told.

I enjoyed this movie very much. It's quirky as reviewers have noted, but that's what I liked about it. It's a refreshing change of pace from the stock formula storyline.

It's redundant...I love Michael C. Hall but even in this movie I couldn't stand it. If you watch Dexter you won't be able to watch this. Sorry Michael...it's a flop.

if you have a silly and tolerant sense of humor, this was a fun movie with a great cast. Try it out!
