I loved Bliss right away. She is such a strong heroine, but also has a softer vulnerable side. She's smart, independent, knows what she wants, and is unwilling to settle. Yes, her stubbornness causes some problems, but it's understandable given the circumstances. My favorite part about Bliss is her passion. Passion for her life, her work, and her love. Her road was not an easy one, but she's fought hard to become the woman that she is and is proud of it. I'm not usually a fan of instalust and I will admit that this pushed my limits, but I thought what developed as a result was so genuine and true that it didn't matter in the end. Bliss and Steven may not have had a conventional love story, but I think it was incredibly relatable.
This book also features some of the funniest and most colorful secondary characters I have ever read. A few you will love to hate and others will have you laughing out loud. There's a good dose of drama and angst, but it fits with the story and only strengthens the relationship between Bliss and Steven. I did get a little lost with all the information about Steven's stunt work and the entertainment industry, but the details painted a really vivid picture of what was going on with our characters. Overall, The Trouble With Eden is a wonderful love story and I look forward to reading more of Leslie's books.
Bliss is the owner of her company. She runs it with her best friend. She delegates from a computer and Skype's her meetings. She met this guy in a gym. They go out on a date. They fall in love.
I just couldn't put this book down.
I reviewed this book for KFA.
Steven is a stunt man and hasn't felt the need to settle with one woman, until he sees Bliss. He is doing a movie and that leads to more characters introduced in the book. Two of my favorites are Jack and Nicki. Nicki is Bliss's best friend and Jack is Steven's. They also find love at first sight.
They have their ups and downs as in every love story but this is a complete story. I love how their story does continue in the third book. That being said this does stand as its own book.
The heroine, real estate professional Bliss has worked hard to become the successful woman she is. An early, failed marriage taught her some hard lessons about love, and finding her own happiness. That said, she's mature enough to know what she wants from a relationship, and secure enough to hold out for it. Yes, she's picky when it comes to a long-term prospect, but she's game for a little fun.
Hollywood stuntman Steven likes fine clothes, fast cars, and, frankly, he's appreciated his share of fast women too. But he's not trying to play anybody. He's attracted to Bliss. He's not afraid to pursue the attraction, and he's open to seeing where it leads. Steven could have easily been a stereotypical dirty-talking, adrenalin-fueled Hollywood bad boy, but I loved him more, and found him hotter, because was such a strong, confident, and refreshingly un-effed-up guy.
Sounds perfect, right? Oh no. Remember, there's a serpent in paradise. Outside forces bring the drama in this story. And boy, do they bring it.
With a debut like this, I can't wait to read more from Ms. Pike.
Bliss and Steven are what true love show us to be. It's not rainbows and flowers but if you can weather the storm, the sunshine is that much more beautiful!
I highly recommend this read. So many famous cameos here.
Of course you always have your royal bitch to deal with lol, but we slay those dragons right?
Steven the stuntman and Bliss the real estate mogul/screenplay writer are an amazing couple to follow.
From the start to the end of this book I wanted more, couldn't sleep without reading more.
Can't wait for more from this author!
