As the novel opens we meet Flint Palmer, the ranch foreman and former rodeo champion, He's older than his new boss, but certainly attractive, and he notifies Sutton that there's a problem with her grandmother's favorite horse and that they need to call the veterinarian. Sutton is hip deep in trying to come to terms with getting the ranch accounts in order, not an easy task since her grandmother apparently never threw anything away. She's also trying to get necessary repairs made to the ranch house, as more problems crop up with the roofing, trucks and other ranch vehicles. She's simply overwhelmed by her lack of knowledge and her new responsibilities, but she relies heavily her kind, capable, handsome and understanding foreman, Flint.
When the vet arrives to check on the horse, she's shocked to discover that aside from being one handsome hunk of a man, he's none other than Kale McNab, her childhood nemesis and the meeting does not go well, although they certainly strike sparks off each other, something Flint notices and is unhappy about, since he too is more than a little interested in Sutton, but she's his employer.
Not only does Sutton have two incredibly hot men vying for her attention--she's unable to choose between the two, a new twist on the traditional cowboy romance. After having turned down an offer from a nearby rancher to buy her grandmother's ranch, he starts spiriting away some of her ranch hands with offers of better pay and full-time employment. She also soon starts receiving odd threats, fences are torn down, one of her cattle is found dead and mutilated, and other mishaps occur. Then, her obnoxious ex-boyfriend, Noah, a bestselling author, shows up, and wants her back too.
So, in addition to this being quite the erotic romance, there's a mystery to solve and more than a few viable suspects. Now comes the really bad news, this novel ends in a suspenseful cliffhanger, which is maddening, and it's the reason I didn't give it a 5-star rating. I know publishers and authors need to make money, but I'd much prefer to pay more to get an entire novel than have to wait for the next installment.
This is most definitely an 18+ read, and it's certainly a good one. As the first novel I've read by Ms. Saint James, while eagerly awaiting the conclusion to this novel, I'll be reading her backlist titles.
Sutton is home to take over the family ranch. It's not an easy job, but it's one that she feels is what she needs to do. Settling down, planting roots, and maybe looking for that special someone.
Kale is the town vet and very excited to have Sutton home, he's had a crush on her for years. Flint is her foreman, but he's got it bad for Sutton even though he feels he's too old for her.
Sutton is drawn to both men and doesn't know which one she wants more, so she starts a love triangle that gets more complicated every day. But just as things start heating up, Sutton starts receiving ominous threats and warnings. And then secrets are learned that have Sutton reeling.
Now she must decide if those secrets are too much and end her daliceny with one of her men and run into the arms of the other.
But before she had a chance to think things through.... something happens that will make your heart stop.
Seriously London, that is one heck of a cliffhanger!
This book is everything you would expect from London Saint James. She starts a story that will capture and keep you hanging on until the end. The heat that these two cowboys bring into Sutton's life will leave you breathless and in need of a very cold shower. And the mystery that surround the threats will have you wondering what will happen next.
So if you're into hot sexy cowboys, kinky spankings, dirty talk that will melt your panties, then I suggest you run and pick this book immediately!

My Rating 4 Stars
This book is power-packed with a specific cowboy some high sexual tension, Mystery and a woman who is hell bent on honoring her grand-mothers legacy without fail.
I enjoyed this story of Sutton’s return to the ranch and her journey to making it run just like her grandmother had, we are given men that are hotter than the Texas sun vying for Sutton’s attention and we get the suspense of someone who wants Sutton to leave the ranch and never return. This is a fast paced fun read you don’t want to miss out on, and I can’t wait for more.
