Her grandfather moves Annie and her mother to a new town for a new start. She quickly makes new friends, but they are obsessed with finding the ghost that haunts their school. To be a good sport, Annie goes on a ghost hunt, knowing full well they won't find a ghost, because ghosts don't exist.
Not only does she encounter a ghost, but it is a nasty, malevolent one and he is now after Annie and her friends. The bulk of the book
"Troubled Spirits" is a great, fast moving plot mixing the paranormal with mystery and a nice side of romance. Each of the characters is well developed. It was nice to see that the author didn't indulge in trite stereotyping that many YA authors succumb to. The secondary characters, Harmony, Mike and Callie & Logan were interesting in their own right, Melinda, the witch was a great touch, and of course there is Drew -- the love interest.
Great plot, nicely done and likeable characters, fabulous writing = GREAT READING. Author Teri Lee is definitely on my "read more" list.
Layered: it's got multiple dimensions and is packed full of action, ghosts, + one witch
Interesting flavors: it's got unique characters
Satisfying: it's a page turner from the very start and it wraps up with a great ending
I enjoyed all the characters, but especially Melinda, the ageless animorph of a witch. Would love to see Melinda star in her own book!!!
Troubled Spirits is a book for any teen and beyond.
