First of all Briggs & Straton does not stand behind their warranty. The
carburetor claims to have a two year warranty. It does not. B&S claims that bad gasoline (fuel you buy that contains 10 percent ethanol) causes corrosion and they will not cover $!24.00 a new carb. Used 4 times. Just returned from repair shop and high pressure hose blows out. $58.00 Bought new one. Now the tip of the pressure washer is leaking.. Bad O ring. Note buy only 93 octane and use a stabilizer product, then hope......... Note bought at Lowes. They will not help you, and their salespeople are not aware of the bad gasoline issue...

My TB pressure washer pump failed after about 10 uses - stay away! We all know how frustrating the automated phone systems can be - this company's system is the WORST I have ever encountered. It's virtually impossible to get any help, support, or answers from them. I'm not only unhappy with the build quality but FORGET IT on getting any help from the parent company! Obviously I will no be purchasing any of their products in the future.

don't even think about it. Mine worked once then would never start again. The 2 year warranty has some issues too. In my opinion, best to avoid.Maybe I just got a lemon but tons of complaints on the internet. I should have done my homework!

I purchased this pressure washer this afternoon primarily because I have a Troy-Bilt walk-behind mower (great mower!) and the unit comes with a Briggs and Stratton engine. MY BAD!!! After carefully reading the assembly instructions and, as instructed, lubricating all the rubber seals, filling with the supplied oil and adding supplied gas stabilizer and filling the tank with fresh unleaded fuel, I was ready to do some serious pressure washing. After 6 pulls on the starter cord, the engine came to life and I pulled the trigger on the wand. Everything was going great so I decided to 'spray-off' my wife's car. After spraying one side of the car, the pressure suddenly dropped on the washer and the engine sounded like it was really laboring. I released the trigger and the engine came back to 'normal' speed. However, from that point onward, every time I pulled the wand trigger, the engine went into "labor" mode again and there was limited pressure from the wand. I turned the unit off and checked all the water connections to make sure there was no obstruction in either the inlet side or the high pressure outlet side and found nothing. Decided to restart the unit and try again but 20+ pulls on the starter cord (yes the on/off switch was set to on) got not a spark of life. Packed everything up to take back to Lowe's in the morning. I should have believed the other reviews but have just never experienced out-of-the-box problems with Briggs and Stratton ever before. Looks like Generac and Home Depot will get my money.

Unit ran great until just out of warranty. Had about 15 hours on the engine. Tried to start it but no go. Had engine work done to the tune of $90.00+. Used once for about 5 hours to clean the driveway. Pulled it out the other day and when I finally got it to start, it ran maybe 30 seconds and engine came to a very abrupt halt with water spraying all out from under the unit but none coming out of the hose ---- blown pump. Looks like a new pump will run about $160. Don't think I'm going to do that.
Totally underwhelmed with TROY BUILT! They used to make good stuff. Now I see people returning these washers about every time I go to Lowe's. I see as many coming in the door as I see going out the door.
Going to buy different brand.

This unit is an excellent example of cost cutting gone too far. Cheap garbage. Briggs and Stratton should be ashamed of manufacturing an engine this bad, and Troy Bilt should be ashamed of bolting it to their poor quality machines.

Every part that could be made plastic without shattering within the first hour of use has been made plastic. THIN plastic. Everything flexes and bends when you pull the starter. Which, by the way, is oriented in such a way that has you reach down underneath the handle to pull it, when it could be rotated in any other direction. The fuel tank is plastic and is held on to the plastic fan cage with plastic clips. The plastic gas cap is not sealed and will leak if tipped too far.

The first couple hours went smoothly, then the problems started. Handle is poorly molded and very uncomfortable to use. After an hour of use my thumb was chaffing. I use power equipment every day, and this is one of the worst handles I've seen. The gasket in the handle split apart, spraying water in all directions. The couplings at the pump leaked a small amount as well.

After 2 hours of use, the motor bogged down as if it were under heavy load and the wand pressure dropped. At first I thought I had low pressure in the garden hose, but it checked out fine. Then the motor died and would not restart. The compression increased sharply and it backfired. I found that the compression release system in the engine had failed, sticking the exhaust valve closed. I returned the unit and picked up a replacement.

The second unit had all the same issues, and failed in the same way. The second time I got my money back. I'm glad I did, seeing how every review for this washer is one star.

I am not biased. I own a Troy Bilt washer with a horizontal Briggs.
