I contacted Troy-bilt and received a response that simply stated that the warranty period was 90 days. End of message. I'd have been more impressed with their customer service if they'd simply told me not to bother them. That would at least have been an honest answer. Including the name and address of a service center would have been helpful.
Recently I learned that a friend purchased the same blower about 8 months before I did and experienced the identical problem. My belief that Troybilt is a manufacturer of premium equipment appears unfounded.
I had the 28cc two-stroke Husqvarna picked out when I saw this one on sale and I'm glad I bought this one instead. The four-stroke engine is a huge advantage. There's no need to mix gas and oil, just put gas in it and go. For me, this means I'm more likely to use it more often since there's no pre-use fussing around at all. Also, in general, four-stroke engines last longer than comparable two-strokes, with proper maintenence (regular oil changes, etc).
As for wind, this unit makes it! I agree with the poster who said that MPH has little to do with clearing power. While this unit is a little heavier than the unit it replaced, it does the work at least three times faster. The unit is around eleven pounds but I just switch hands as needed. The intsructions say not to use it in the left hand but come on, be real... I just make sure not get my pant leg caught in the air intake and when I do I just quickly pull it away, no big deal.
- Clearing power on par with any comparable two-stroke.
- Four-stroke convenience and durability.
- VERY easy starting.Read more ›

No more nixing gas and oil. Starts with choke on and after 8 presses of the priming bulb on the first pull. Even after being in service 3 years. I'd buy it again. Read morePublished 23 months ago by Timothy Kosto
It is great not to have to mix gas and oil. Biggest problem is being born left handed. Motor sucks my pants into air intake if operating left handed, otherwise very good .Published on May 18, 2013 by harleygirl
This blower does exactly what you'd expect. It cranks easily, it produces great wind and it's a 4-stroke (no mixing oil and gas!). Read morePublished on December 7, 2012 by JaSoN
I have been using 2 cycle blowers for years. All were hard to start, and I "Stunk" after using them.....not a problem here. Read morePublished on May 30, 2012 by peter
We are used to blowers (weedeater, craftsman, poulan, etal) lasting a year or two and then not being worth fixing when they conk out. Read morePublished on May 8, 2012 by typhooontom
Thought I was buying the better brand with Troy and what a let down. Generally the machine is fine, nothing spectacular though. It has always started right up for me. Read morePublished on July 14, 2011 by Joe
Easy to set up, easy to start up. Fit and finish is great for the price. Only concern is the longevity of the choke switch which is really tiny and cheaper plastic and difficult... Read morePublished on October 19, 2010 by Test Subject 42
