About the Author

The Troy Standard is A.G. Fredericks’ first novel. This book was the fulfillment of a New Years’ Resolution made in 2012. It developed through a combination of his worst fears, and some of his biggest questions regarding high-finance and the world’s power structure. While he does not have a secret room in his home, he does believe it prudent to invest in physical gold and silver.

Mr. Fredericks does a phenomenal job of creating a remarkably relateable lead character in Troy Mulligan. Troy exemplifies the man many of us think we could be if we had the testicular fortitude to not just ponder, but EXECUTE a detailed regimen to make profound changes in his life. These powerful positive changes to strive to be a better man health wise, at work, and most importantly, at home with his wife and daughter, eventually lead him to dramatic realizations about life outside his previously inconsequential existence; healthcare, the global economy, and most importantly, the accepted currency of the US and the world, the US Dollar. Troy's strengthened resolve and self efficacy through his daily Routine lead him to take bigger risks and challenge conventions outside his small part of the universe. The author lays out an excellent framework for the foundation of Troy's eventual life mission, a global metals based currency. The framework is so detailed it almost seems obvious that the Almighty Dollar as we know it may be worth less then the very paper its printed on (certainly worth significantly less than the metal in the coin currency!)
I recommend this book as a quick, enjoyable, and gripping read for anyone who has trouble accepting todays continuously growing government intervention in our every day lives. It is a refreshing, 1984/Farenheit 451 sort of present-day perspective from a promising new author.

The Troy Standard is a masterful first effort by AG Fredericks. Not only is the book a page turner, but it provides more commentary on the socio-economic problems plaguing this country than you could hope to learn in most college textbooks. Fredericks thinks two steps ahead by setting the story in a time and place that, perhaps, the future holds in store for this country and makes you think long and hard about socking away your own stash of gold bullion before it is too late! Great read!

A fantastic thriller seen through the eyes of Troy Mulligan a proud and independent man who is constantly questioning his government and the economy.
His journey through the book is one in which resonates with all of us that realise democratic freedoms and economic prosperity are being eroded more and more as each day passes. If like me you are interested on how governments do this, then this is a must read because it has been written with the influence of timeless classics such as Animal Farm, Brave New World, 1984, Atlas Shrugged and Fahrenheit 451. With classics such as these influencing The Troy Standard how can it not educate, enlighten and make you question not just yourself but authority.
And you don't have to be an American to understand and accept the Dedication:
Dedicated to those who recognize the world's need for sound money and who step forward to fight the battle. May those who think the independent, unelected Federal Reserve has their best interests at heart, soon learn the truth before it becomes too late.
I personally congratulate Mr A. G. Fredericks on his first book and look forward to the next.

WARNING: Just as in Hitlers Germany where they burnt books that were deemed to have an Un-German spirit, so to in Troys world you could no longer read the books mentioned above as they were deemed to have sensitive content against Socialist Governments.

Where this country is headed in my opinion and this book describes it so well. Wonderfully descriptive of what is happening in this country as I speak and hard to believe this is Mr. Fredericks' first novel.

A real page turner from the first page to the last and definitely keeps one's mind focused on the events portrayed of how the government is taking over our freedoms in this country. The excellent portrayal of how Troy's investment into precious metals was particularly of interest to me. I found the book very relevant with the events that are taking place today.

I highly recommend this book for anyone interested in today's economic and political environment. Thank you Mr. Fredericks and looking forward to your next work.

Great book, extremely relevant in our current economic and political environment, particularly with the recent ruling that our government can now impose a 'tax' if we refuse to buy goods or services from govt selected private enterprises. The book hit home and opened my eyes to some interesting perspectives. I couldn't turn the pages fast enough and look forward to the sophomore effort from A.G.

An alternative/anti-establishment Economics lesson in the form of a novel. I really liked it. The characters were great and the plot exciting. I found myself searching the web for information about topics raised here and got almost as engrossed there.(The characters here however are much better developed.) All in all, a book well worth your time to read.

Book Review - 'The Troy Standard: And The Men Behind The Desks' by A.G. Fredericks
Tuesday February 6th, 2013
thelibertyhomestead.com

I discovered 'The Troy Standard' a few weeks ago through Twitter. Once I read the title and description I know I had to read the book. The book is written by A.G.Fredericks, is his first novel and is self published. It is 192 pages long which puts it more into the realm of a novella. You can find this work in print or electronic format for your Kindle reader from Amazon.

Being a self published work I was not sure what to expect. What I found was a novel that was very well written. Once you start reading this you won't want to put it down. I would have finished the work in one sitting if I had started reading a bit earlier in the day. His writing style is as good or better than many best selling works I've read. That in combination with the topic of the work, the state of our worldwide economic system, make this an intense read. Fredericks made a new years resolution on January 1st, 2012 to write this book as a vehicle to express his thoughts and apprehensions about the house of cards our government and others have built and how fragile that house now is.

In the novel the main character, Troy Mulligan begins to recognize that the state of the economy and specifically the level of debt being created each year by the government and the level of 'stimulus' created by Federal Reserve is not sustainable. This is a realization that many people are beginning to reach for themselves. Since the financial collapse of 2008 I know I have viewed our system through very different eyes. In the novel Troy is a bond trader and has an inside view of the system and the fact that the emperor has no clothes.
