The Tru-Fire Difference
When Tru-Fire designs a new product, we want to make certain it gives you, the consumer, years of trouble-free use and dependability. One of the first issues we address is using the same material on the internal firing mechanism. This is important because when different metals with different hardnesses are combined in a firing mechanism, premature wear can and often times will occur. Be careful, other release companies firing mechanisms are made from different metals altogether. Tru-Fire, on the other hand, designs firing mechanisms to utilize the same metal and hardness on all of our release firing components.During the development of a new release, we test the new model at a staggering 200 pounds for 20,000 continuous cycles. By testing our products at this extreme level of weight and cycles, we are insured that you the consumer will have a release that will not fail you.
Trigger Thumb Adjustment
Adjust to any of 16 positions to find the one that best suits you and your shooting style so as to make shooting more natural.
360° Head Rotation
Allows for free movement around the trigger. Provides more comfort and accuracy for the shooter.
Fits both hands
Simplifies the trigger so anyone can use it without any overcomplicated set ups.
Hook Design with Loop Retainer
Allows for easy use and more efficient shooting.

Yes, there is a small learning curve but the ergonomics alone make this release worth every dollar. It makes the bow easier to draw and I believe it is because you can more efficiently engage your forearm muscles which are responsible for finger flexion. With a typical wrist release, those muscles cannot work because the position of the wrist strap prevents you from engaging any of your fingers. once you get used to the correct anchor point for yourself, you'll be shooting well in very little time and have less fatigue in the strong arm from drawing.
I would highly recommend this over the high end wrist releases.
Overall, it's solidly made. The retainer is garbage though, I like the idea, but mine sometimes gets stuck under the hook after the trigger is deployed. this means I have to pull on the hook by thumb to get the retainer out so the hook can reset. Maybe this is just an issue with mine?
Update : for whatever reason the release would lock up after about 15 arrows. I called true fire and their customer service is outstanding. I told them what was happening they told me to send it back and they will send a new one. I'm expecting to get the new one probably in the next 5 to 6 days. I have using true fire release aids for the last 15yrs and this is the first time one has not worked like it supposed to. I still recommend this release
My current time release and only release style I'd used was a tru fire hardcore wrist release which was an amazing release. Till I bought this.
I am retired army with a sholder injury that made it hard to.shoot lots of target. Being that I really love Archery I would bear through the pain caused by pulling my bow back till I started getting really bad shot groups or worse, loosing arrows.
After reviewing comments on how people said that thumb style releases draw back easier I decided to try out this release. After all- it can be returned!
Wow... what an improvement though...
Out of the box it felt way different. No doubt there. Be prepared for a very odd feeling coming from a wrist release.
The wrist release gives you a feeling of having more control on draw back, however the strength gained by having your bicep pull and on your rotator cuff taking the full brunt of the draw (I shoot at 70lbs) makes a huge difference.
Next was my anchor point. Before I felt it was very strong. This gives a new meaning to hard anchor point. You'll never be unsure if you're anchor is weak with this release. It also immediately showed I'd been tucking my chin when aiming. After 10 shots at 20yrds I saw such a dramatic grouping improvement I moved to 40 yards. Grouped again tighter then before and finished at 60 yards with a solid 3 inches group.
Such was the grouping that I busted 2 notches and stripped 2 fetchings with my field points. One at 40yrds and another at 60yrds.
I highly recommend this to ANYONE looking to shoot better. It will feel quite different but with soild foundation and knowing what to change to work with the release you will see incredible improvement. I see why 3D competitive archers use these to the wrist style.
