I'm usually not so impressed with slow burn stories. I like all the mushy stuff and slow burn stories usually end right after the I love you's have been said. However, I was completely satisfied with how that book ended.
Also, I realize that this is not the first book in this series, and I haven't read True Luck yet. Usually I hate reading out of turn and if I do by accident I can tell that there are things I'm missing and it bothers me through the entire book, however, I didn't feel like that with this story. At no point in reading this did I feel like I should stop and go back to read the other story first.
I truly enjoyed this story, loved the characters, and can't wait to read the other story in this series.
Anyta did a great job expressing the body image issue Marco has; burn scars on his body. You feel his pain as he relives the second worst day of his life - losing his best friend, and then the steps to salvage what was lost and rebuild.
Oskar was determined to get his friendship back with Marco. I'm glad Anyta decided to do a proper book treatment with a secondary Bottle Boys character. 4.0 for handmade gifts.
