In short, the book is great, I particularly liked the synchronicity effect Renner talks about, I truly believe these cases are usually solved because of the small quirky details, and coincides are not by accident. If you are a reasonable reader who likes a true mystery, I highly recommend this book.
Renner is a good writer, he speaks plainly but he holds you. He opens up tot he reader, not just about his search for Maura but his own life and family and how the case impacted him. It's a highly personal book. I think he wanted to give the reader information about Maura, while at the same time show what obsession with an unsolved mystery can do.
I know he is writing fiction now, I really hope he revisits this case after it's resolved.
