I recently ordered this book by Joe Beam and Lee Wilson. I figured it would be just another book on death and Heaven, which most that I have read over the years usually left me with only hazy ideas about what to expect after death. Well, I was quite pleasently surprised when I started reading this book. Saying it is just another book would do it a big injustice. Joe and Lee have written this book in an easy to follow format that just about anyone can read. They take on just about every subject regarding Heaven you can dream up a question for. Well, maybe not every question but they do an incredible job of covering most common questions with supporting scripture and commentary. They look at topics such as what happens when humans die, where Heaven is located, life on the New Earth, what the new Earth will really be like, will animals and pets be in Heaven (my wife will like their answer!), will there be male and female in Heaven, will there be relationships in Heaven, what will our bodies be like, and what will keep us from sinning again. If these questions have been on your mind and you are seeking answers, I recommend their book. Even if you don't have questions regarding Heaven, I recommend their book as good, interesting, and informative reading for any Christian.

Growing up in a small town church, there was never much taught about what the Bible says heaven will really be like. Oh, I heard enough about the horrors of hell to know that this wasn't where I wanted to go when my life here was over....but not enough about heaven to be absolutely sure that this place was going to be all I ever thought or imagined...ONLY BETTER! Joe Beam and Lee Wilson use the scriptures themselves to give some insight to The True Heaven. What was it that God had intended for his creation, man, in the very beginning? Where did God plan for man to live forever? If you have questions....if you want to know what God's word tells us about heaven and all that He (God), has planned....may I suggest you read this book, The True Heaven: Not What You Thought, Better Than You Expected. I've read it once and I'm getting ready to re-read it again. Thanks Joe and Lee for this beautiful picture of our heavenly home.....B.Werner

Ever really wonder what heaven will be like? We will all come to the end of our lives at some point and only two choices will remain where we will go from there, either heaven or hell depending on your beliefs. But what do we really know about heaven and where do we gain that information from?
The people who die and return with glimpses of what the afterlife holds for us or do we look to God's Word, the Bible to see what His promises are?

Joe Beam and Lee Wilson took an extensive study into the Bible to look at what The True Heaven really looks like. Are they Bible scholars? By no means. Just a couple of guys trying to understand scripture and put it into effect in our lives. Do they have all the answers? Obviously not. They aren't shy about sharing their views, but they admit that they are just that - their views. Their goal in writing this book isn't to get you to agree with everything; it is to get you to think. Feel free to disagree, to ask your own questions. Their hope is that groups of Christians - or anyone interested in what happens after human death - will use this book as a starter for Bible study, discussion and lively debate. I personally think they have done an outstanding job!

In their book, The True Heaven: Not What You Thought, Better Than You Expected that tackle with scriptures such questions as "What happens when we die?" "Will we have bodies in heaven?" Are the dead aware of what is happening on earth now?" "Will we keep our memories in heaven?" "Do animals go to heaven?" and so much more.

I guess the biggest question and one that Joe and Lee addressed in the book was the fear that all we would be doing in heaven was sitting around singing worship songs for an eternity.

My ideas of heaven were confirmed with this book. Didn't know how I felt about singing forever when I'm not crazy about it here. God is creative and I believe that will continue for Christians when they go to be with Jesus and the Father - only better. We only see a small percentage of God's magnificence here on earth - how much more is there in heaven. WOW!

My husband and I read this book together, it was such a wonderful easy to read book. Everything was backed by the scripture which I appreciated as well. It gives one a whole new idea about what heaven will be like. I would most heartily recommend this.

I have read many views on heaven, along with the scriptures to back up the statements, however, to include some of the electronics and inventions of the modern world would actually make heaven very unpleasant for some of us. Is God able to supply all of our needs, including the need to grow in wisdom and knowledge without gadgets and computers. The scriptures do say, eye hath not seen, nor ear hath heard, the things God has for us in heaven. The Bible says we must become like little children to enter the kingdom of heaven. I remember the first time my parents took me to the zoo, I was five and was overjoyed to be there. I had no expectations, but was thrilled to see each exhibit for the very first time. Of couse, I stayed close to my dad because I knew he would keep me safe. There was no fear for me that day. It was heaven. When it was time to leave, I was sad. there seemed to be so much more to learn and experience...... I read this book because I want to know as much as I can learn about our "real home". The authors confirmed most of what I already believed. Hope you enjoy this book.....still if you are curious you can read "Ninety Minutes in Heaven". It held great significance for me.
