About True Induction
True Induction is a specialty brand of kitchen appliances featuring induction technology. By focusing exclusively on induction we are able to stay ahead of the technological curve that is the growing induction industry. The True Induction name also signifies quality assurance. We've tested our units in real life situations to make sure that the product’s specifications are in fact applicable to the modern day household.
The Mini Duo by True Induction
The True Induction Mini Duo Portable Counter Inset Induction Cooktop is the perfect combination of sleek design and modern technology. This unit is set apart by its ability to be inset into a countertop or being used as a countertop model to act as an extra set of burners when needed, then stored for future use. Weekend barbecues, family get-togethers or just your weeknight dinner, the Mini Duo does it all. The smaller size and portable or inset option makes the Mini Duo a perfect unit for tiny homes, RVs or normal household applications.
Dedication to safety is a defining feature for all the cooktops in the True Induction line. An important function that separates True Induction from other induction companies is that after a pot is removed the burner area it begins to immediately cool down, reducing the risk of burning yourself on a burner. The pan detection feature will shut the unit off if it does not detect a pan on the surface of the unit. If the pot is not induction compatible the display will show 'E1' and then shut down. The unit will also cycle on and off once it reaches the set temperature to that the pot stays the correct temperature and does not overheat.
Induction works through magnetic-field technology that excites ferrous (iron or steel) metals causing them to give off heat. This heat is generated in the pot itself so there is no heat loss between the burner and the pot. Additionally there is no heat being generated by the burner itself making it impossible to burn yourself on an exposed burner. The Mini Duo plugs into a standard 110 V outlet saving you the cost of rewiring an outlet. It produces 1800 watts of cooking power. The modern design of our cooktop was created with simplicity in mind. The face has been engineered with a one piece ceramic glass surface, where the touch sensors are located underneath. This makes the unit extremely easy to clean, by simply wiping across it with a wet towel. Being a double burner cooktop, the Mini Duo benefits from True Induction’s patented power sharing technology. This allows both burners to run off the same plug and divide the power when both burners are in use. To test your current cookware for induction compatibility, simply take a magnet and see if it will stick to the bottom of the cookware. If it sticks well your cookware is induction ready.
Less cooking time, More family time
In today’s fast pace world, finding the time to cook dinner gets put on the back burner. Families rely on fast food or frozen meals more than ever before. Now is the time to make the change to induction cooking with True Induction. The magnetic-based technology is enabling the home cook to craft delicious homemade meals in a fraction of the time it takes traditional stove-tops. This revolution in home cooking allows more efficient cooking, healthier meals, and more time spent with those who matter most.
Small Space, Big Innovatons
Cooking in a small space can be a big challenge, but with True Induction’s Cooktops it doesn’t have to be. With space in an RV or tiny home being so hard to come by the small footprint of the Counter Inset Model is the perfect solution. The unit is small enough for you to use then store when your back on the go. The fact that induction doesn't give off any actual heat makes the unit very safe in mobile cooking situations.
Peace of mind through inherent safety
The ease of use and safety features included in the True Induction line of cooktops makes them perfect for hotels and assisted living facilities. The nature of induction means the unit consumes far less electricity than traditional stoves. The reduction in both operating costs and injury risk makes True Induction a money saving investment.
Patented Power Sharing Technology
True Inductions patented power technology allows for more energy efficient cooking by allowing the burners to split wattage between them. This means the unit will run at 100 one side and zero on the other, 50/50, 70/30, 60/40 etc. It also allows the unit to run more effectively on the standard 110v outlet already in your kitchen.
The True Induction MD-2B Double Burner Counter Inset Induction Cooktop is specifically designed to be inset into your countertop. Our Mini Duo gets its’ name due to its smaller footprint. Though it is smaller in size than our other double burners, the cooking potential remains the same. The MD-2B features patented power sharing technology that enables to the cooktop to not only be energy efficient but the convenience off running off of a standard wall outlet. Power sharing works by dividing the power between the two burners at 100/0, 50/50, 80/20, 70/30, etc. The MD-2B requires induction compatible cookware to operate. Cookware that has a flat bottom, is between 4 and 8 inches in diameter, and is magnetic. It cannot be used with regular pots and pans. It comes with a limited 2 year warranty and support through email@example.com.

The downsides are that it does require special cookware, and we have to manage our electricity usage. Can't run the range and the dishwasher at the same time. There is a lock button that must be pressed before pressing the button to turn on the button, but is too easily disengaged when just wiping down the cooktop.
Overall, this unit is perfect for our camping needs. We generally stay at full hookup parks, so we don't need the old propane cooktop method. However, if we ever do fine ourselves without electricity, we still carry an old style portable propane stove for emergencies.
