About True Induction:
True Induction is a specialty brand of kitchen appliances featuring induction technology. By focusing exclusively on induction we are able to stay ahead of the technological curve that is the growing induction industry. The True Induction name also signifies quality assurance. We've tested our units in real life situations to make sure that the product’s specifications are in fact applicable to the modern day household.
The Counter Inset by True Induction
The True Induction TI-2B Double Burner Counter Inset Cooktop is one of the best cooktops on the market. This double burner unit has been specifically designed to be inset into your countertop. We have extended the glass top to achieve a seamless inset. This unit can also be portable and placed wherever you would like, which is beneficial for dorm rooms, camping, or needing extra burners for a special occasion.
There are multiple safety features within the unit, it has a built-in safety turn-off feature that registers when the cookware is removed from the burner and placed back on, allowing for a safe cooking experience. Once the cooktop reaches its maximum temperature of 450 degrees, it will stay at that temperature and will not exceed it.
The unit has a one piece ceramic glass surface made for easy cleaning. All that is needed is a damp cloth to wipe down the top surface or it can be easily removed from the counter top for a more detailed clean. One of the best feature is the ability to power share between the two burners. When only one burner is needed it uses 100% of the watts, when both burners are in use the watts are split between the two of them.
The unit uses a magnetic-based technology that generates heat using a magnetic circuit when a ferrous metal (steel/cast iron) cookware is placed on the cooktop. This magnetic circuit allows only the pot or pan to heat up using a magnetic field to direct the heat only to the cookware. As a result the cooktop allows food to cook faster, saving time, energy, and most importantly money. When purchasing optimal induction cookware the bottom should be flat with a diameter of 4.5 inch to 10 inch. To test if your current cookware is induction compatible, take a magnet and stick it to the bottom; if the magnet sticks, then your cookware is ready to be used on your new True Induction cooktop.

This revolution in home cooking allows more efficient cooking, healthier meals, and more time spent with those who matter most.
Small space, Big innovations
Cooking in a small space can be a big challenge, but with True Induction’s Cooktops it doesn’t have to be. With space in an RV or tiny home being so hard to come by the small footprint of the Counter Inset Model is the perfect solution. The unit is small enough for you to use then store when your back on the go. The fact that induction doesn't give off any actual heat makes the unit very safe in mobile cooking situations.
Peace of mind through inherent safety
The ease of use and safety features included in the True Induction line of cooktops makes them perfect for hotels and assisted living facilities. The nature of induction means the unit consumes far less electricity than traditional stoves. The reduction in both operating costs and injury risk makes True Induction a money saving investment.
Patented power sharing technology
True Inductions patented power technology allows for more energy efficient cooking by allowing the burners to split wattage between them. This means the unit will run at 100 one side and zero on the other, 50/50, 70/30, 60/40 etc. It also allows the unit to run more effectively on the standard 110v outlet already in your kitchen.

One thing to note: each burner has a fan underneath for cooling the element. It runs whenever the unit is heating, and makes a little noise. When it's installed in a countertop I don't think you'll really notice, but sitting on the countertop it does make some noise. But compared with the performance, the noise is a non-issue.
Once you start using this cooktop, everything else is going to seem second-rate. Highly recommended.
Pros - Unit has a built-in safety feature that will not continue to try to heat a pan if a pan is not detected. Heats food up FAST!!! Underside comes with a foam-rubber gasket installed for the inset mounting (helps keep it in one place and reduces noise resonating through the counter top)
Cons - My only major problem with this unit is how loud the cooling fans on the underside are. They sound like an old Computer fan running. The sound is certainly muffled because the fans are down below the counter top; but, you can definitely still hear them running.
I had not problems running both burners at 100% power with any noticeable issues. I did, however, run a dedicated line from the Circuit Breaker Panel directly to the outlet that this plugs into so that it will not have any negative effects on other items plugged into the house.
