Willow Aster is a brilliant author and one to watch for the future since I'm guessing this is her first novel. Her story telling is stunning, descriptive, captivating, engrossing, heart-wrenching, deep, charming.... so many words I can't convey them all.
The story of Sparrow and Ian is true love played out on the pages of a book. I can see this kind of story happening in real life unlike other stories being written that are really farfetched in the reality department. I love the whole life transitions that both Sparrow and Ian walk through... together and apart. I'm being vague here because I don't want to spoil anything, but I can say these life transitions and the love story of Sparrow and Ian are conveyed brilliantly on the page. I love how the word "LOVE" is crossed out on the cover because this is a "true story" about love being questioned!!!! Not a word is wasted on the page...
Do I recommend: Highly.... Don't miss this unconventional love story.
Sparrow is a really good person and cares about others. Maybe at times she can be naïve but I think it's nice how she sees the world. She's looking forward to moving across the country for college and spread her wings. She's close with her parents and really cares about their opinions but doesn't let it rule her life. From the first moment she met Ian, she feels an instant attraction and pull toward him. She's not use to feeling so much for a guy.
Ian is starting to become popular in the music industry and music was made for him. He grew up with a father that was physically and emotionally abusive to his mother. He hasn't really seen solid and loving relationships so he has major commitment problems. He knows he's made some really bad choices and decisions in life. He wants Sparrow something bad but he doesn't think he's good enough and doesn't know if he can commit to her like he should.
Definitely worth reading.
