My bottle appears different than what was pictured, it is not a tube and that makes me believe the product is out dated. There is no expiration date but the product is oil based and has that rancid oil smell! Sellers should disclose when products are past their shelf life...really! True makes wonderful natural products just make sure you are getting fresh product!!!!!! I am editing this review as I decided not to return this product due to low cost and return shipping.....if you can get past the old coconut smell I found this product works better than any other I have tried....delivering a deep bronze skin tone...the inside seal was loose on my bottle which may have lead to the product smelling past it's prime. The True brand products have always been exceptional and deliver results stated...I'm going to upgrade my review from 2 to 4.

This Tanner is a miracle! It is by far the most realistic looking color, the most even coverage, and has given me the most compliments of any Tanner that I have tried. Being of Scandinavian descent I have very white skin which has always been embarrassing for me during the summer months. I have always envied people with a darker complexion and how they can just wear whatever color they want because they seem to have a permanent tan going on. No matter what Tanners I have ever tried, I couldn't shake the feeling that they were not totally convincing looking. Most of them fall somewhere in the orange spectrum and are not brown enough. This one is the best ever! My friends and family have been saying how tan I look, and they cannot believe that it is not a real tan from the sun! After just one application the color is quite deep, but not so dark that it looks fake or over-the-top. The tone is a nice brown color. Also I have had zero issues with streaking and it goes on smooth and spread evenly. The only thing I would say is that this product is quite thick when it comes out of the bottle so I have had success with mixing it with a little bit of coconut oil or some other type of lotion to make it more spreadable. And as always, with any self tanner it is important to pre--moisturize your elbows ankles and knees in order to keep the product from over darkening those areas. As long as you properly exfoliate and moisturize the dry areas before applying, you will look like 1 million bucks! I feel so much more confident and comfortable wearing fun summer dresses and colorful outfits now that my skin is not the color of milk. I have not tried it on my face yet because I have always had issues with acne but you could potentially use it there as well.
Even though this product does not contain a bronzer to give you instant color as you apply at, I actually prefer this because for one, the color develop so fast that normally a bronzer is not needed as long as you apply at a few hours before going out. Within two hours I can already see my skin beginning to darken. Within 4 to 6 hours, the color is much much darker. If you can manage to leave it on your skin overnight without showering until the next morning, the color will deep in even more. This also seems to be one way to make the color last longer as well. I think it needs as much time as it can get on your skin to develop properly. Since there is not a ton of product in the bottle, for the price I tried to use it smartly when I know I am not going to work out later in the day and wash it right off again. Some people may prefer applying it before bedtime for this reason. I am just so pleased that self Tanners have finally gotten good enough to look realistic. I used to indoor tan Occassionally my early 20s and I have had to stop getting any sun at all abruptly after getting a skin cancer on my face. The self Tanners are the way to go! The color does last for several days, probably by the third day it begins to lighten somewhat but I have had success extending it by continuing to just moisturize a ton. For me being so light, 2 to 3 applications a week is all I need to maintain a fairly dark color. If your skin is already somewhat darker to begin with, you could probably get away with using it even less often and still maintain a dark tan. You will not regret buying this especially for the money. I would say it performs comparably to some of the much higher end tanners sold at upscale department stores or Sephora. You can spend 30, 40 or more dollars for a similar product but for $15 you really can't go wrong.

While the scent of this particular self tanner is far better than most, the fade of the tan was quite blotchy. This could be just my skin type, and I have tried the product multiple times with the same result. The tan is nice, even, medium dark - but when it fades, it looks like I was born with a rare skin pigment disorder or possibly was experimented on by aliens prodding my entire body. The "medium" tan product that True Natural offers however seems to fade much more naturally and has roughly the same level of tan.

I bought this because I wanted something as absolutely natural as you could get and it's toxicity rating on the EWG website was just about perfect. This stuff really is very pure,natural and organic.

When I got it out of the box I almost got really mad. It is the smallest bottle of self tanner I've ever had and therefore, at this price, the most expensive. I thought how would I ever get more than one and a half full body applications...So I decided to exfoliate (i just use plain natural cane sugar and it really gets rid of all dead skin and works awesome)and put the smallest amount that I could get to lightly cover everything, which is about 4 pea sized squirts per arm, 1-2 on face, 2 quarter sizes per leg...etc. You really don't need much at all. The spread-ability is amazing. When I was done the bottle felt like I didn't use any at all, so I thought If I get good color from it, then hip hip hooray.

Started seeing color after about 2-3 hrs...fully developed after 6hrs, so don't lose hope after a couple hours. I got very nice medium brownish golden color (not yellow golden) with a minimal amount. I'm the type that likes the color from an airbrush tan at the salon (but you should never inhale the mist from spray tans so i stopped doing that) and I could probably achieve close to that with one more applications and being a little more liberal about the amount (but not on face, it got dark enough on face!) So right now it's a good rich *natural* golden brown color and I'm very happy with how it turned out. Looks like that teensy weensy expensive bottle will last a while :)

The smell : What smell?? There was no development smell! Not even a little bit. (well ok, sometimes i could maybe detect like 1% of what you get with the other self tanners, but really it's like nothing) and I am very sensitive to smells. I can usually smell stuff other people can't. It only ever smelled like natural lotion. Just light and nutty kind of.

The Pros : a little goes a long way - a tiny amount spreads all over the place, no smell, super even, blends perfect into areas that you don't put it, blends perfect on hands and feet, golden but not yellowy, all natural *really*, organic, you can feel safe and healthy using it.

Cons : I cannot find anything I don't like about this product! I definitely recommend it :)
