A must-have for small jobs.

This is a great tool to have in your arsenal for small painting jobs such as doors or trim. Cleaning oil-based paint is obviously more of a chore than water-based. There is no way to regulate the flow rate, but so far that hasn't been a problem. The only drawback is that Graco did a screwjob on us by making the spray tips non-interchangable ( they are built into the nozzle guard. That means you'll have to buy all new tips, even though they are identical to the old ones you have.

I am comparing the Truecoat Plus spray painter to old fashioned brushes and rollers, Wagner hand held sprayers, several brands of airless sprayers, HVLP sprayers, and numerous spray guns with my air compressor. I have painted house exteriors, walls, ceilings and trim boards; cabinets; furniture; and picture frames. This experience makes me a highly qualified DIYer! After 3 months of frustration with the Truecoat Plus sprayer, I set it aside. It is now decorating a shelf in my shop. If you want a decoration, go ahead and buy one. If you want something that will paint, DON't buy this piece of crap!

I need a gun to spray latex interior mostly for 12 raised panel doors and interior painting of walls etc. The Graco rep told me this particular series of gun could not be rebuilt. What a shame, why built a $200-$300 throw away gun..........??????? and what is this metric of how often you use one to justify the model needed? Yeah I may need my gun 4 times a year but it will get a freaking work out, from a patio to all the house trim to a metal work shop, so I don't get it. Tell me what gun is good for latex and for how may gallons before a rebuild is required or recommended and that's all that i need.....like MPGs that is a metric I can relate to.........

It pulsed spraying Zinsers Bulls Eye primer using the 311 tip so I thinned it a little with Floe-trol & water. It seemed happier, but still was hard to find the right speed W/O making passes that either put on too little resulting in a (pulse pattern) or too slow = too much . It puts A-Lot of paint out FAST. I'm going to have to use my Fuji HVLP to finish the Int. door as the 311 tip just makes way too much orange peel & over-spray. I don't think it will result in the flat finish I'm looking for. Spraying a wood-grained garage door or rough sawn cedar look trim or side garage door O.K. Pro's: It's fast,easier to carry,set-up, clean & store than my airless.Great for smaller jobs. Cons: It's not a "Fine finish" sprayer. Maybe with a smaller tip fitted. Still puts out a ton of over-spray compared to a HVLP rig. The newer model Pro with the adjustable pressure might be better & mine is a "Factory Re-conditioned " unit so your mileage may vary.

Perfect for one or two rooms

I bought this to paint my garage. And it was super useful, For larger projects I would suggest one the larger models that have a stand alone pump. But for one or two rooms at a time its been super helpful. I did my whole garage in just few hours and it left a perfect coat.

I made a much smaller mess than when I used to using normal paint brushes.

This review is for the cordless truecoat. Ilike the way it sprayed but....the batteries & charger are chinese made junk!!! 1 battery never would hold a charge & the other worked fine 4 the 1/2 gallon of paint I used it for then that 1 would'nt hold a charge either !!!! warranty was up by the time I finally got around to using the sprayer because it was a gift & sat in garage.Replacement batteries are 140 bucks apiece!! C'mon GRACO !!! If your gonna use chinese junk in your tools at least make the replacement batteries cheap!!! what a rip-off!!!!
