Easy to mount and set up was fast out of the box!
*it sits low and blocks my flip up iron sights so I may go either with a riser or change it out and use it on another rifle other than my Windom AR.
Has been good under live rounds so far. Less than 200
I have it mounted in a scout position and the eye relief is just about perfect. A trip or three to the range to see if the dot will keep a zero will need to be done before I can recommend. Will update...
The brightness/on/off knob is big and very tight, taking some effort to turn. Not likely to ever turn off on its own. The caps that cover the adjustment knobs are snug and retained (no way to lose them). A penny or a small flathead screw driver is needed to rotate the adjustment knobs. Nice subtle click as you turn them.
The dot is pretty clean, a nice red dot with only a slight asymmetry imperceptible at low light levels. The lowest setting is quite sufficient for indoor use at a well lit range. A nice notch bulges out from the knob which makes it easy to turn off as you can visually tell what position the knob is in.
The caps flip up and out of the way. I found the rear cap a bit annoying when zeroing as it flips in front of the adjustment screw. But it doesn't completely cover it so it worked out as I got used to it.
The mount is very low profile making it the perfect height for this particular rifle (since the upper forward hand guard that covers the piston is already elevated above the barrel axis). That said, it does not really cowitness with my VZ front sight but no scope or optic would/could on this rifle.
The mounting screws are well designed and quite good at staying snug with just a hand tightening. If I end up having issues I will apply loctite and update my review. If the quality changes or it becomes defective I will also update my review, as I do for any product I buy. I will add a photo soon. So if has been a while and this is the last sentence, you will know this is a reliable budget optic as I shoot my rifle quite regularly.
